Forze 3 - 4 Cecentus

Due to an all-day shower, 28855 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at Maracanà. was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Günther Brockhoff and Tero Pekkanen. Forze decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. The following players had been chosen: Bolinth - Chevallier, Sunesson, Labis - á Kirkjuteigi, Genty, Gunnarsson, bin Hussain, Mülhaupt - Schalke, Scharnhauser.

Cecentus started off with a 3-4-3 lineup. The following players took the field: Titini - Ghiberti, Gindre, Archistra - Hooijenga, Bubbi, Aresti, Ahuir - Pohlmann, te Braak, Oppenheim.

Stefan Sunesson of Forze seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 1 - 0 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by Nicolas Chevallier. Rüdiger Scharnhauser was struggling to make the ball dance with his usual trickery and panache, and the opposing players had little trouble shutting him down in these muddy conditions. William Genty did not have a good day today, often losing his footing on the muddy pitch. The crowd was silenced 27 minutes into the match as the visiting team's Emidio Aresti came in from the left, levelling the score to 1 - 1. The cannonball from 35 metres by Jaafar bin Hussain of Forze was an impressive sight, but didn't make it into the net. Halftime score was 1 - 1. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Forze, with 55 percent of the ball.

The coach of Forze wanted to try to change things around after 71 minutes, and gave new tactical instructions. Priding himself in being an active coach, the Forze manager gave new instructions to his players after 72 minutes. After 73 minutes, the Forze coach had a quick word about the tactical set-up and decided to try another approach. Cecentus's Sascha Pohlmann gave the visitors a 1 - 2 lead after 79 minutes with a superb strike from the right. With 80 minutes played, the Forze coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. Erkki Hirvonen came on, Torbjörn Gunnarsson had to leave the fray. The crowd was on its feet 83 minutes into the match, as Forze's Alcide Labis found himself unmarked in front of the goal after a dash up the left side. He calmly put away the 2 - 2 equaliser. Carlo Bubbi of Cecentus was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. With 86 minutes played, the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending. Watze te Braak put the ball away for 2 - 3. With a shot curled in from just outside the middle of the penalty area after 87 minutes played, Alcide Labis of Forze made the score 3 - 3. 87 minutes into the match, Cecentus nearly took the lead, as Emidio Aresti broke through on the right. Justus Bolinth made the save, however. 3 - 4 was the score with 88 minutes played, after Watze te Braak cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal for Cecentus. Forze had most of the ball, with 57 percent of possession.

The most dominating Forze player was without a doubt Nicolas Chevallier. Mats Mülhaupt turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important Cecentus player was Sascha Pohlmann. However, Manuel Archistra made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 3 - 4.
