Clouds darkened the skies at Mediterraneo as 45239 spectators turned up for the match. Hezi Levi was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Erkut Mühri and Mark Mannes. Capaci tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Rebagliati - Lisek, Padrini, Farris - Rocchi, Toneatti, Marello, Ruju, Ilić - Hagell, Lafargue.

A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for GrandeCara. They fielded: Vizziello - Beumkes, Meza, Jansson - Mazzucchi, Zappalà, Pasquinucci, Voza - Mewton, Fresnais, 秋山 (Akiyama).

GrandeCara saw most attack opportunities on the wings, taking advantage of their magnificent level with that tactic. Jonny Hagell caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 18 minutes. This gave Capaci the 1 - 0 lead. GrandeCara's Andrés Meza left the field after 21 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was Walter Jongejan. Allard Beumkes really should have scored when he was chosen by fate to confront a wide open goal following a great play by Tiberio Voza after a corner. Enrico Mauro Toneatti should probably have put his team up another goal after 30 minutes after breaking through the middle, but some great goalkeeping by Eduardo Vizziello kept the visitors in the game. 33 minutes into the match GrandeCara's Marcello Pasquinucci viciously shoved another player from behind while going for a loose ball and was sent off the pitch with a red card. The player down was Guillaume Lafargue. The Capaci bench looked worried for a while, but in the end he managed to get up. A well placed corner kick from Fabrizio Marello was followed by Jonny Hagell's hard but accurate header. The well executed routine resulted in a goal for Capaci, the score now 2 - 0. John Mewton nearly reduced the lead 40 minutes into the game, but a splendid one-handed save by Corrado Rebagliati prevented the attempt coming in from the right flank from hitting the back of the net. 41 minutes into the game, Capaci were awarded a penalty that Fabrizio Marello turned into 3 - 0 without a problem. 3 - 0 was the score after the first half. Possession in this half belonged to Capaci, who controlled the ball 59 percent of the time.

GrandeCara had a fair chance to reply after 48 minutes due to some fine moves down the left, but in the end Bernard Fresnais was slow to keep up with the play and was unable to make it into the penalty box to apply a finish. The GrandeCara players listened closely to their manager, as he gave new tactical instructions for the team. After 52 minutes of the match, the manager still hoped to turn things around. 昌彦 (Masahiko) 秋山 (Akiyama) was ordered to assume a different position on the pitch. He took the place of Stefan Jansson, who in turn replaced his team mate. GrandeCara needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 53 minutes Stefan Jansson made way for Sabata Matenje. As the captain was no longer on the pitch, Walter Jongejan took over the role of being the GrandeCara captain. Fabrizio Marello struck a 30 metre free kick home 59 minutes into the match. 4 - 0 for the home team. Confident in their lead, Capaci's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. A bit later, GrandeCara's Bernard Fresnais easily reduced the lead to 4 - 1 after a misunderstanding in the home side's central defence. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave Massimiliano Rocchi from Capaci a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 66 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! GrandeCara were forced into a substitution as Walter Jongejan couldn't continue due to some rough treatment, forcing Sören Stangl to come in off the bench. Eduardo Vizziello was the new captain of GrandeCara - handed the armband by the departing player. Capaci put in a good effort on the right, but Enrico Mauro Toneatti saw his volley fly wide of the mark 71 minutes into the game. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Capaci's Fabrizio Marello increasing the lead to 5 - 1. This third goal completed a hattrick for Fabrizio Marello. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Capaci, with 56 percent of the ball.

Most important Capaci player was Jonny Hagell. Massimiliano Rocchi was a disappointment, however. GrandeCara's best player was Tiberio Voza. Sören Stangl on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 5 - 1.
