Atl. 1 - 3 TRIGÚEY

It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 32734 that came out to Multiusos de San Lázaro. was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Angus Borthwick and . Fans of both teams had been eagerly awaiting this Galicia derby and were doing their best to outshout their opponents. Atl. started off with a 2-5-3 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Erdağ - Kallström, Frechilla - Ehrenberger, Puigdevànol, García Carpintero, Molina, Aleksandrov - Kaftan, Edendahl, Brüll.

TRIGÚEY decided to use a 4-5-1 set up. They fielded: Canela - Corbeij, Dimakakos, Lleida, Sanguino - van Gemert, Baiñas, Pérez, Hernando, Donati - Vilademuls.

Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for TRIGÚEY on this day, taking advantage of their world class level with that tactic. The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 17 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from Rubén García Carpintero, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing. Atl.'s František Kaftan had an excellent opportunity after 32 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles! TRIGÚEY tied it all up, 34 minutes in, after a spectacular goal by Sergio Pérez, who miraculously broke through the home side's central defence, making it 1 - 1. The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of TRIGÚEY's Floris-Jan Corbeij after 37 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 1 - 2 lead. It was 1 - 2 at the break. Atl. claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 62 percent.

After 54 minutes, TRIGÚEY were awarded a free kick as their counter attack broke down. The set piece was lifted over the top, intended to open up the defence. However, the target man seemed to be taken by surprise, and could not reach the ball before it crossed the line for a goal kick. The coach of TRIGÚEY was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 65 minutes, Jaume Endara came on for Paulino Baiñas. Jaume Endara was handed the TRIGÚEY captain's armband. Per Edendahl found it hard to catch his breath today in the stifling heat. Content with how the game was proceeding, the TRIGÚEY coach let Sylvester Lettenbauer replace Sergio Pérez after 75 minutes. Feddo van Gemert left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 80 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. Dimitar Krústev was the replacement. After 80 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed Bonaventura Vilademuls to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 1 - 3. As usual, Stefanos Dimakakos tried to use his strength and hard work for the benefit of the team, but the heat hit him hard and he couldn't keep pace at all. 84 minutes into the game, Tadeu Puigdevànol had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came Ernesto Toledano. Atl. had a magnificent opportunity after 87 minutes as Julen Molina hit the ball hard from the edge of the penalty box. However, the shot went wide. Possession in this half belonged to Atl., who controlled the ball 55 percent of the time.

František Kaftan performed admirably for Atl.. On the other hand, Ernesto Toledano's play was disheartening. TRIGÚEY's top performer was clearly Gianluca Donati. However, Abel Hernando made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 1 - 3.
