A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 2196 to Maxim Stadium. Jonathan Baker was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Juan Jesús Azagra and Aleksandar Belić. The head coach flashed hand signals from the sideline and Kania formed up in a 3-5-2 combination. Let's hope the opposing sideline wasn't filming that. The following players had been selected: Majdziński - Malanowski, Vredenbregt, Papini - Kleba, Błachucki, Łastowski, Kadela, Palud - Środa, Pauś.

Cry "havoc" and let loose the dogs of war! deloreskow will go to battle in a 4-4-2 formation. Lineup: Misa - Miara, Plut, Szafaryn, Szkudlarek - Matejek, Hankus, Chamot, Chamczyk - Musioł, Kukla.

After 6 minutes cheers broke out as G. Środa found his way through the guests' central defensive line, rattling the 1 - 0 goal in off the woodwork for Kania. The home side's M. Kadela came close to extending the lead after 10 minutes. His shot came in from the right but G. Misa managed to push it wide with his fingertips. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Kania's R. Vredenbregt got himself booked. After 30 minutes, Kania were awarded a free kick. Rather than shooting straight at goal, the kicker went for an indirect variant which seemed to take his teammates a bit by surprise. R. Vredenbregt did manage a finish, but from an awkward position, sending the ball out of bounds. Maybe E. Papini should join the aquatics team instead. He went down dramatically after 33 minutes, crying out with agony as he fell. The referee was not impressed, though, and showed him a yellow for diving. Cheers filled the stadium as K. Pauś broke through the visitors' central defense to put away the 2 - 0 goal for Kania. 2 - 0 was the halftime score. Kania set the tempo, maintaining 76 percent of possession.

N. Palud gave Kania supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 3 - 0 after 56 minutes, following a good exchange of passes on the right that the away team failed to deal with. Confident in their lead, Kania's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. R. Vredenbregt wasn't much help defensively. His energy-consuming forward runs proved quite costly in the oppressive heat. G. Misa was caught napping as K. Kleba lifted a ball over him following a free kick, but the ball hit the bar, rebounding into the keeper's arms. The clock read 66 minutes and things were deteriorating for the away team as Kania scored another to make it 4 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for M. Kadela. The Kania free kick 68 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But it was no mistake - D. Błachucki seemingly came out of nowhere and had miles of space to control the ball and pick his spot. That's 5 - 0! The unexpected cross from Kania's N. Palud opened up the defense and was received by G. Środa who finished it off for 6 - 0. I. Łastowski had a fantastic opportunity to put Kania up another goal 85 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. Looks like Nate Silver was right again - his prediction that Kania would have 78 percent possession in this half was spot on!

Kania's best player was I. Łastowski. Speaking of stinking up the place, L. Majdziński sure smelled like the bottom of Batman's shoe after a night of crimefighting in Gotham. W. Hankus performed admirably for deloreskow. I can't remember A. Chamczyk ever having a worse night than he just had. The match ends 6 - 0.
