52843 spectators had found their way to FC Dambrugge Arena, despite the heavy rain. Stephan van Wegen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by and Govert Eerkens. People from all over Antwerpen had joined up for the derby. Seefhoek had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Van Buynder - De Wispelaere, Fourneau, Bronchart - Wymeersch, Bourdon, Simon, Votquenne, Bricmont - Galloy, Ucur.

team~insanity started off with a 2-5-3 lineup. Lineup: Verellen - Despierre, Calante - Tarquini, Kırdar, Treier, Delporte, Mayeux - Pera, D'Ambrosio, Gallitz.

Phil Despierre sailed high above the opponents as he headed in a corner kick from Valmar Treier after 5 minutes of play, making the score 0 - 1. What was Jean-Ignace Bourdon thinking? That's what everyone wondered when, for no apparent reason, he shot a cross pass over his own penalty area, giving Giancarlo Tarquini an extra chance, but unfortunately for team~insanity, he didn't get the shot right. 33 minutes into the game, Georges-Henri Fourneau came close to levelling the score with a dangerous shot from the centre of the area that went just over the bar. Stanley Galloy of Seefhoek received a yellow card after 39 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. After 40 minutes of game time, Jesús Calante had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but Raf Van Buynder was in the right place and tipped the ball over for a corner. After 41 minutes, a well-worked counterattack by Seefhoek on the right presented an easy opportunity in front of the goal that was duly converted by Hikmet Ucur to make it 1 - 1. Seefhoek's Stanley Galloy had seen it all before, so he waited patiently for the right opportunity. He would get no better chance than the one he took, but his shot was deftly blocked by the keeper. team~insanity had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially 44 minutes in when Daniel Pera came up alone against Raf Van Buynder who managed a block. 1 - 1 was the score after the first half. Possession in this half belonged to team~insanity, who controlled the ball 57 percent of the time.

Helge Gallitz spent most of the time in a heap on the ground today, his normally rapid movement hindered by the slippery pitch. Raf Van Buynder looked great 48 minutes into the match after stopping a shot from the middle of the penalty area from the visitors' Fabian D'Ambrosio. With 57 minutes played, the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending. Orhun Kırdar put the ball away for 1 - 2. Giancarlo Iacchi was called on to replace Seefhoek's Raf Van Buynder after 60 minutes following a nasty collision. After 62 minutes, team~insanity's Orhun Kırdar burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 1 - 3. With 67 minutes played, Georges-Henri Fourneau of Seefhoek fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. Helge Gallitz received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 74 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 1 - 4. The team~insanity fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by team~insanity, with 57 percent of the ball.

Most important Seefhoek player was Spencer Votquenne. Giancarlo Iacchi turned in a dismal performance, however. Fabian D'Ambrosio performed admirably for team~insanity. Edi Mayeux on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 1 - 4.
