Loaded 0 - 3 Eleven

It had rained all day, but 49317 hardy fans still made it out to Field of Dreams. Torben Krage was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Erik Erstad and . After thorough analysis and consultation of astrological charts, Loaded decided to go with a 3-5-2 formation. Starters: Canuto - Sies, Dotzauer, Tănase - Kürkçü, Molero, Pasero, Stoicescu, Hermida - Kolppanen, Akkor.

The head coach flashed hand signals from the sideline and Eleven formed up in a 2-5-3 combination. Let's hope the opposing sideline wasn't filming that. Lineup: Turner - Bains, Eades - Shewan, Johnson, Iredell, Roberts, Fletcher - Andrews, Smith, Gardner.

Loaded's game plan was to sit back and absorb the pressure, then use their formidable ability to break on the counter whenever possible. The guests almost went up by a goal with 24 minutes elapsed when D. Smith came through from the right. The shot bounced harmlessly off the post, though. Good work by Loaded's defensive line after 25 minutes produced a good counter-attack chance, one of which cut elegantly down the middle of the field and found N. Akkor alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide. With 32 minutes played, Eleven's R. Johnson received a yellow card for challenging a play with his cleats first. F. Gardner seemed to be defying gravity as he elegantly headed in a goal for Eleven after a corner kick that was nicely executed by F. Eades. That makes it 0 - 1. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 1. The Count appeared on the jumbotron and announced that Eleven had 60...60 percent possession. AH AH AH!

After 48 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defense allowed J. Iredell to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 2. The game had been going for 62 minutes when J. Iredell broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 3 for Eleven, much to the home crowd's dismay. Eleven's players now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. Eleven's J. Iredell had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 77 minutes gone. E. Tyas was the replacement. The game was characterized by rough play and many physical challenges on the wet field, but O. Bains showed great heart and had a good game. 79 minutes into the match, R. Johnson came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. R. Johnson knew he was in trouble after hacking down an opponent. Despite his pleading with the referee, the Eleven player was shown a second yellow card and dismissed from the game. B. Fletcher was handed the Eleven captain's armband. J. Kolppanen tried to get a goal back for Loaded but despite all his hard work down the right, he just couldn't finish. After 85 minutes, Loaded substituted A. Pasero for J. Teruel, hoping for a quick impact on the field. Looks like Nate Silver was right again - his prediction that Eleven would have 53 percent possession in this half was spot on!

N. Akkor performed admirably for Loaded. You can tell it was nickel beer night yesterday at the local bar because J. Teruel seemed to stumble all over the pitch. Most important Eleven player was O. Bains. Speaking of stinking up the place, M. Andrews sure smelled like the bottom of Batman's shoe after a night of crimefighting in Gotham. The match ends 0 - 3.
