2987 spectators arrived at Fail Park, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. Andrés González was the appointed referee with assistance provided by and Gonzalo Obregón. Valiants tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination. The following players had been chosen: Sáenz Barrio - Harto, Micklehose, Coissoró - Dein-Butt, Henrique, Skrl, Frijling - Casters, Syman, Dervišagić.

Vallen had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation. Starters: Rueda - Lewhall, Håkansson, Bengtsson, Montero - Visser, Jacobsson, Effenberger, Freitas, Gačević - Göransson.

8 minutes into the game, Valiants had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to passable. As the 10 minute mark approached, the Valiants coach decided it was time for a substitution. Aires Coissoró reluctantly made way for Wil MacMurdoch on the pitch. Valiants broke through on the left 10 minutes into the game, with Olaf Dein-Butt firing in from an acute angle to give the home side a 1 - 0 lead. The coach of Valiants was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 11 minutes, Kurt Landvoogd came on for Mikey Syman. Vallen's Quintin Visser was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 26 minutes. Cheers filled the stadium as Kurt Landvoogd broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 2 - 0 to Valiants. Kurt Landvoogd increased the lead for Valiants to 3 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! By now, the players in Valiants felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. A great save by keeper Eduardo Rueda after 31 minutes kept the visitors in the game after João Henrique struck from the left with a real cannonball. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Lojz Skrl got himself booked. The manager of Valiants was not happy. 35 minutes into the game, Valiants seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a passable level of organisation. 37 minutes in, Vallen appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only inadequate. 3 - 0 was the halftime score. Possession in this half belonged to Valiants, who controlled the ball 65 percent of the time.

A review of the gameplan helped Valiants get back to a solid organisation when the referee blew his whistle again. During the break, Vallen's coach went through the team's tactics yet again, getting them up to solid organisation. The Valiants players could smell victory in the air. Lojz Skrl wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for Braeden MacCririe after 46 minutes. Olaf Dein-Butt was the new captain of Valiants - handed the armband by the departing player. With 50 minutes played, the Vallen coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. Ascenso Sousa came on, Patrik Göransson had to leave the fray. With 54 minutes played, seemingly due to lack of experience, Rodrigo Del Rosario Montero needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed. After 55 minutes, Wil MacMurdoch put Valiants ahead 4 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. Valiants solidified their lead at the 77 minute mark, as Nihad Dervišagić dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 5 - 0. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Valiants's Olaf Dein-Butt increasing the lead to 6 - 0. The referee showed Valiants's Olaf Dein-Butt the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. After 85 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Valiants found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to passable. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Valiants, with 72 percent of the ball.

Most important Valiants player was Nihad Dervišagić. Rafael Sáenz Barrio turned in a dismal performance, however. Vallen's best player was Timo Effenberger. Jimmy Bengtsson was a disappointment, however. The match ends 6 - 0.
