24542 spectators arrived at Pakistan Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. Ingolf Paikert was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Şemsi Gülşan and Dalibor Ilić. U-20 Pakistan started off with a 5-4-1 lineup. The following players took the field: Jalal - Lallani, Jalalvi, Ashfaq, Arif, Kazi - Rana, Pasha, Osman, Khan - Imtisal.

U-20 United Arab Emirates decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. They fielded: Shademan - Al-Shaibani, Al-Maktoum, Al-Aamri - Al-Qubaisi, Azizzadeh, Al-Shaibani, Al-Murhaib, Nagi - Gargawi, Al-Alawi.

U-20 Pakistan clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could, taking advantage of their magnificent level with that tactic. After 7 minutes, the defensive line of U-20 Pakistan created a counterattack through the middle that gave Zargham Imtisal a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. Bahadur Osman of U-20 Pakistan was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. It was 0 - 0 at the break. U-20 United Arab Emirates claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 58 percent.

Zargham Imtisal would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Navaz Talib entered the game for U-20 Pakistan as the match clock showed 46 minutes. As the 46 minute mark approached, the U-20 United Arab Emirates coach decided it was time for a substitution. Hareb Al-Maktoum reluctantly made way for Hamid Al-Kaabi on the pitch. Always quick and a menace to his opponents, Ishaq Al-Qubaisi was very close to getting through after 54 minutes, but he could only put the ball into the keeper's arms. 61 minutes in, U-20 Pakistan's Yunis Jalalvi received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. 65 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a U-20 United Arab Emirates substitution. Khalaf Al-Murhaib came on for Musabah Gargawi. After 66 minutes, Ishaq Al-Qubaisi sent the corner kick right to Bader Al-Alawi who headed it sharply past the keeper. 0 - 1! U-20 United Arab Emirates's Suhail Al-Aamri had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 74 minutes having been played. Sami Al-Shaibani was the replacement. With 79 minutes having been played, U-20 Pakistan scored to make it 1 - 1. A dribble down the left wing, followed by a shot which took a wicked bounce off a defender resulted in the keeper having no chance. Everyone thought it'd been an own goal, but Navaz Talib was marked down as the scorer. 80 minutes into the game, U-20 Pakistan wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Gulzar Rana gave Hussein Nasik a quick hug as he left the field. After 89 minutes, the U-20 Pakistan coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving Abdullah Lallani off the field. Agha Pasha took his place. The match ends 1 - 1. U-20 United Arab Emirates had most of the ball, with 57 percent of possession.

The most dominating U-20 Pakistan player was without a doubt Nahid Arif. Sultan Khan on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important U-20 United Arab Emirates player was Khalaf Al-Murhaib. However, Sami Al-Shaibani made a disastrous appearance.
