A scorching day at Stadium Colombaro, where 30560 spectators were in place for today's match. Edi Anghel was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Sigmund Wilke and . They fielded: Marolla - Malignani, De Santis - Rienzo, Dal Rio, Leoni, De Benedictis, De Magistris - Cesco, Carp, Animento.

The following players took the field: Morales - Bollmann, Natov, Di Biagio, Mangini, Bonetti - Levorato, Pasinato, Ilić, Gudas - Gottarelli.

Colombaro F.C. started the game in a 2-5-3 formation, whereas Borgomalva F.C. lined up in a 5-4-1 formation. Colombaro mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle, taking advantage of their divine level with that tactic. Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Borgomalva, taking advantage of their mythical level with that tactic. After a fine move down the middle Giorgio Leoni nearly gave the home side a goal after 3 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide. Colombaro took the lead 5 minutes into the game by 1 - 0, as Andrea Cesco elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. Corrado Pasinato stunned the crowd with a brilliant counterattack from the left, giving Borgomalva the goal to make it 1 - 1. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 1. Colombaro claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 69 percent.

Usually a powerful player on the field, Corrado Pasinato looked kind of pale and tired under the hot sun. Colombaro were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. They were singing the praises of Paolo Rienzo 63 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 2 - 1 to Colombaro. A well placed corner kick from Erhard Bollmann was followed by Fernando Di Biagio's hard but accurate header. The well executed routine resulted in a goal for Borgomalva, the score now 2 - 2. 72 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Borgomalva substitution. Gustavo Gabellone came on for Francesco Mangini. Ermanno Levorato wasn't much help defensively. His energy-consuming forward runs proved quite costly in the oppressive heat. Colombaro created a good opportunity to score 81 minutes into the match when Mattia Animento's hooked ball from the left created a scuffle in front of the goal, and the visitors' defenders had a hard time clearing the ball. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to Osvaldo Carp, but the Colombaro player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 3 - 2! A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Colombaro's Mattia Animento increasing the lead to 4 - 2. The referee announced 1 minute of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 4 - 2. Colombaro had most of the ball, with 68 percent of possession.

The most dominating Colombaro player was without a doubt Osvaldo Carp. However, Daniele De Magistris made a disastrous appearance. Most important Borgomalva player was Erhard Bollmann. Gustavo Gabellone on the other hand, had a terrible day.
