BZB 1 - 2 KS-ROW

Due to an all-day shower, 23737 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at BZB Arena. Zacarias Fernan was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Massimo Malpezzi and Åge Hagenes. Lineup: Domeracki - Doubrava, Saleppichi, Szwarocki - Billborg, Altio, Sensale, Bermudez, Jagusz - Gaston, Wolniakowski.

Starters: Brancaccio - Pryczkowski, Cieleń, Trepanowski - Perkin, Al-Aini, Golbach, Maghembe, Kuchta - Kobiałko, Cockaerts.

Both teams came out with a similar approach to the match, having chosen to start with a 3-5-2 formation. BZB immediately set off using their solid skill at pressing their opponents. The strategy for KS-ROW was to use their solid ability to press. Roope Altio of BZB received a yellow card after 20 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. At this time in the match, BZB were using their skill at pressing to successfully stifle the game. After 27 minutes, KS-ROW's Dorian Cockaerts made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1. Damian Wolniakowski of BZB was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. Ola Billborg spent most of the time in a heap on the ground today, his normally rapid movement hindered by the slippery pitch. Given a free kick close to the byline, BZB tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let Przemysław Szwarocki slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 1 - 1, 31 minutes into the game. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 1. BZB had most of the ball, with 53 percent of possession.

After 46 minutes, the KS-ROW coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving Jędrzej Kuchta off the field. Paweł Grajkowski took his place. The game was characterised by rough play and many physical challenges on the wet field, but Roberto Sensale showed great heart and had a good game. BZB's talent at pressing frustrated the spectators as the game became a dire midfield struggle. The visiting Mo'taz Al-Aini was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 64 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 1 - 2 was the score. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, BZB's Damian Wolniakowski was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 69 minutes. Mieczysław Gwizdała was given a chance to change things around. With 69 minutes played, the BZB coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. Gustavo Redondo came on, Edmund Jagusz had to leave the fray. KS-ROW came close to extending their lead as Filemon Kobiałko delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 70 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting. After 74 minutes, BZB switched Ivan Bermudez with Andreas Bernegger, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. After 80 minutes, Igor Doubrava was massaging his right knee with a worried look on his face, but managed to get up in the end. Robert Gaston was just a finger's breadth away from an equaliser for BZB with a strike from the left, but Massimo Brancaccio managed to ward the shot off for a corner. The referee announced 1 minute of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 1 - 2. BZB claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.

BZB's best player was Roberto Sensale. However, Krzysztof Domeracki made a disastrous appearance. Dorian Cockaerts performed admirably for KS-ROW. Quintus Golbach was a disappointment, however.
