Frykas 1 - 3 Emy

The 3263 spectators at FCF Arena were in for an afternoon of sunshine. Toke Heyde was the appointed referee with assistance provided by and Bram van Hooft. They fielded: Zguba - Orla, Wessel, Grzywnowicz - Smolak, Nichev, Likwornik, Falaise, Daniluk - Guziak, Ekfors.

The following players took the field: Fornara - Mocerino, Sferrazza, Beccarini - Spanedda, Mastroianni, Roques, Cabale - D'Ambrogio, Grill, Muzzi.

FC Frykas fielded a 3-5-2 lineup. For Emiliana, the formation of choice was 3-4-3. 1 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Emy substitution. Federico Madaffari came on for Ippolito Mastroianni. As the captain was no longer on the pitch, Cristiano Spanedda took over the role of being the Emy captain. The Frykas free kick 6 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of Marek Guziak, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 1 - 0! Yordan Nichev could have increased the lead after 19 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. With 21 minutes played, Marek Guziak of Frykas fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. Emy levelled the score after 25 minutes to make it 1 - 1, as Corrado Sferrazza struck home after a fine midfield combination through the centre, which left him completely unmarked. Yordan Nichev behaved like an inexperienced youth player after 27 minutes as he gave the ball away to Federico Madaffari. Lucky for him though, there was no goal. Emy took the lead 30 minutes into the game, making the score 1 - 2 after some elegant movement down the middle. Severino Muzzi was the scorer. Yordan Nichev was just a finger's breadth away from an equaliser for Frykas with a strike from the left, but Piersandro Fornara managed to ward the shot off for a corner. Emy mounted an inspired counterattack down the right wing after 38 minutes, but Hubert Grill was unable to convert from short range. Halftime score was 1 - 2. Emy claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.

Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Frykas's Franciszek Daniluk was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 46 minutes. Csaba Kovacs was given a chance to change things around. Hubert Grill received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 50 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 1 - 3. The Emy fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. It wasn't a good day at all for Nisso Likwornik. His powerful style of play just didn't fit the bill on this warm day. With 60 minutes played, the Frykas coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. Dominik Hinz came on, Sebastian Grzywnowicz had to leave the fray. The Frykas captaincy was handed to Oskar Ekfors. Emy's Federico Madaffari made it through the home team's defence on the right hand side 61 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded goal when a defender slid in and cleared the ball off the line. Frykas had a brilliant opportunity to reply as Oskar Ekfors received a high ball from the right, striking the ball in the air. Only Piersandro Fornara's reflexes saved him. Frykas needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 75 minutes Oskar Ekfors made way for Arkadiusz Lacheta. Antonio Orla was handed the Frykas captain's armband. The match ends 1 - 3. Neither team were able to dominate possession this half.

The most dominating Frykas player was without a doubt Marek Guziak. However, Csaba Kovacs made a disastrous appearance. Most important Emy player was Daniel Roques. Claudio Mocerino on the other hand, had a terrible day.
