Braila 4 - 2 Brăila

A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Braila. They fielded: Sobas - Carbonera, Ivan, Dinçsoy - Stjärnstad, Seelze, Castropol, Cirarrueta, Welsburg - Joja, Derecichei.

Brăila had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Starters: Szenczi - Pantea, Mocanu, Zidăroiu - Aresi, Stângaciu, Vizireanu, Broscoi, Guerreiro - Mone, Filip.

Răzvan Zidăroiu sailed high above the opponents as he headed in a corner kick from Adrian Pantea after 8 minutes of play, making the score 0 - 1. The crowd roared in delight as Leon Derecichei finished off a spectacular series of passes through the middle to even the score for Braila 36 minutes into the match. 1 - 1. With 42 minutes played Leon Derecichei almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide. Brăila were able to draw a foul with their counterattacks, but the shot from Adrian Pantea went into the arms of the keeper. Cosimo Aresi spent most of the time in a heap on the ground today, his normally rapid movement hindered by the slippery pitch. 44 minutes into the game, Braila seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a passable level of organisation. Making his way up the middle 44 minutes into the match, Pablo Castropol almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert Ferenc Szenczi blocked it to keep the score level. Brăila took the lead 44 minutes into the game, making the score 1 - 2 after some elegant movement down the middle. Simion Filip was the scorer. Halftime score was 1 - 2. Possession in this half belonged to Braila, who controlled the ball 53 percent of the time.

A review of the gameplan helped Braila get back to a solid organisation when the referee blew his whistle again. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Braila's Constantin Ivan was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 55 minutes. Kevin Hopfgarten was given a chance to change things around. Braila's Tomas Stjärnstad skillfully knocked a pass over the top after 60 minutes, and that was received by Cristian Joja who just managed to slot it past the opposing goalkeeper for 2 - 2. 70 minutes into the game, Braila wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Sören Seelze gave Cătălin Ciucă a quick hug as he left the field. With Sören Seelze no longer on the pitch, Leon Derecichei took over free kick duty. 76 minutes had elapsed when a great chance for Braila to take the lead after a good cross from the right found Andrea Carbonera alone with the keeper, but he chipped it to the wrong side of the post. They were singing the praises of Simón Cirarrueta 77 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 3 - 2 to Braila. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave Adrian Pantea from Brăila a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 78 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Andrea Carbonera wanted to play on, but the Braila coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 80 minutes into the game by Tase Sandu. 85 minutes into the game, Braila seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to passable. Braila solidified their lead at the 87 minute mark, as Pablo Castropol dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 4 - 2. Braila enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 57 percent of possession.

The most dominating Braila player was without a doubt Leon Derecichei. However, Tase Sandu made a disastrous appearance. Simion Filip performed admirably for Brăila. Ferenc Szenczi was a disappointment, however. The match ends 4 - 2.
