The crowd of 9114 turning up at Bajo Santa Elena today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain. Theo Haugsdorf was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Alper Urunlu and Željko Višnjić. The following players had been chosen: Vulpan - Maza, Reyes, Stawowski - Sáez Marzo, Calfulen, Putto, Marín, Fabiani - Huenchunao, Zuñiga.

Starters: Caroca - Aizpuru, Valdivieso, Ramírez - Torres, Abbiati, Frias, Mínguez, Hernández - Pastene, Bianchi.

Both teams came out with a similar approach to the match, having chosen to start with a 3-5-2 formation. Metrostars were mostly trying to use their brilliant skill at attacking on the flanks. Oaos seemed to prefer attacking in the middle, taking advantage of their brilliant level with that tactic. Julio Hernández was having a great game - if anything the pouring rain seemed to be spurring him on! Metrostars could have put themselves ahead after 25 minutes but Szymon Stawowski missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right. With 29 minutes played, the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending. Kalisaya Bianchi put the ball away for 0 - 1. The referee showed Oaos's Kalisaya Bianchi the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. With 33 minutes played, Oaos put themselves up 0 - 2 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was Mauro Abbiati. After 37 minutes, Natanael Marín had a good opportunity to reduce the scoreline for Metrostars with a chance created through the middle, but wasn't cool enough. The ball went miles over the bar. After suffering a nasty injury to his right calf muscle, Juan Antonio Ramírez left the field in tears. The unfortunate accident happened 38 minutes into the match. The player that took his place was Hilario Orrego. As the captain was no longer on the pitch, Juan Antonio Valdivieso took over the role of being the Oaos captain. 0 - 2 was the halftime score. Oaos claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 52 percent.

The bench was restless, and with 50 minutes passed Metrostars's coach gave Juan Luis Barriga the opportunity the player had been hoping for. Alfredo Calfulen reluctantly left the field. After 50 minutes, Metrostars used a short break in the game to take new instructions from their coach. Szymon Stawowski, who often relies on his speed, had a rotten day on the drenched grass. The home side worked their way through the middle and almost got one back when Salvador Zuñiga tried to sneak the ball past the keeper. Hermógenes Caroca was too alert for that! Metrostars's Juan Luis Barriga managed a superb strike from the left after 64 minutes that would have left goalkeeper Hermógenes Caroca without a chance, had it not hit the post. Speedy Rodrigo Torres tried one of his patented rushes 76 minutes into the game, but Szymon Stawowski was just as fast and averted the attack. The boggy pitch disrupted the game, especially for technical players like Luis María Huenchunao. Metrostars needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 78 minutes Natanael Marín made way for Pedro García. 78 minutes into the game, Oaos worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch. Juan Luis Barriga did everything he could to get one back for his Metrostars, but keeper Hermógenes Caroca denied him with a spectacular block. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 1 minute of added time they, nonetheless, welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. The match ends 0 - 2. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Oaos, with 56 percent of the ball.

The most dominating Metrostars player was without a doubt Rirchard Fabiani. Luis María Huenchunao on the other hand, had a terrible day. Oaos's top performer was clearly Julio Hernández. Hilario Orrego was a disappointment, however.
