ReBulls 0 - 4 Sdaizu

Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 22248 at Blaugrana Arena today. Lorenzo Brothel was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Thibaut Gac and Raúl Barrio. The following players had been chosen: Trangoni - Kilian, Milevski, Almortza, Verlee - Zumaeta, Vlad, Synak, Pennoni, Fischler - Bjørheim.

Starters: Mjelde - Čorić, Boară, Lohbrügge - Guiza, Quốc Thái, Hagen, Sequeira Silva, Viskil - Rada, Piattelli.

Red Bullets entered the field in a 4-5-1 formation. The visitors, Sdaizu, chose to start the game with a 3-5-2 lineup. ReBulls clearly preferred using their brilliant ability to attack in the middle. Sdaizu immediately set off using their formidable skill at pressing their opponents. Iustin Rada came close to putting the visiting team one up 23 minutes into the match, following a solo raid down the middle, but Tiburcio Trangoni managed to tip the ball to a corner. 28 minutes into the game, ReBulls had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to weak. A mistake by the home side's central defence after 29 minutes allowed Pavao Čorić to score for Sdaizu. The scoreboard now read 0 - 1. 37 minutes in, Sdaizu's Efraín Guiza received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Adrian Boară increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 2. 0 - 2 was the halftime score. Sdaizu claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 54 percent.

During the break, ReBulls's coach went through the team's tactics yet again, getting them up to passable organisation. The home crowd was not impressed when Hans Jarle Hagen came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 49 minutes. Sdaizu were now up 0 - 3. With 55 minutes played, the ReBulls coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. Stoffe Sahlgren came on, Bronisław Synak had to leave the fray. Iñigo Almortza became the new ReBulls captain. After 56 minutes, ReBulls used a short break in the game to take new instructions from their coach. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave Pavao Čorić from Sdaizu a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 57 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! 58 minutes into the game, ReBulls seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a passable level of organisation. After 60 minutes, ReBulls switched Iñigo Almortza with Giuliano Mastrorosa, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. Iñigo Almortza was coming off, and had placed his last free kick for the day. That meant that Pelle Fischler got the chance to showcase his dead ball skills. Giocondo Pennoni was the new captain of ReBulls - handed the armband by the departing player. After 60 minutes, Sdaizu felt secure enough to make a tactical change. David Lohbrügge and Salomon Viskil assumed each others positions on the field. The bench was restless, and with 70 minutes passed ReBulls's coach gave Gonzalo Egea the opportunity the player had been hoping for. Giocondo Pennoni reluctantly left the field. The ReBulls captaincy was handed to Ovidiu Vlad. After 79 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed Giuseppe Piattelli to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 4. Efraín Guiza was doing a great job on his wing, sending in brilliant passes to his teammates in the middle, but Giuseppe Piattelli seemed unable to profit from this excellent service. Sdaizu's ability to press all over the field frequently paid dividends. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 1 minute of added time they, nonetheless, welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. The match ends 0 - 4. Possession in this half belonged to Sdaizu, who controlled the ball 55 percent of the time.

ReBulls's best player was Matias Bjørheim. Pelle Fischler on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Sdaizu player was without a doubt Iustin Rada. Giuseppe Piattelli turned in a dismal performance, however.
