Pott 1 - 4 S.o.G.

26638 spectators had come to RS Pott Arena this cloudy day. Peter Pass was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Igor Denisov and . The following players had been chosen: Semenciuc - Weijland, Rogowski, Ortiz - Koliński, Kimbern, Achmüller, Lubitsch, Niespodziewany - Vreydal, Djengoue.

The following players took the field: Gumppenberg - Meurer-Philippi, Elias - Garmann, Pinto, Party, Andrade Rodrigues, Grossi - Koutsouris, Smolnik, Maščenskas.

RS Pott fielded a 3-5-2 lineup. For FC S.o.G. e.V., the formation of choice was 2-5-3. After 17 minutes, S.o.G. put themselves up 0 - 1, as Pedro Sabino Andrade Rodrigues finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot. As the game started to slip away for Pott, the manager decided to change the tactical approach. S.o.G.'s Andrzej Smolnik got himself booked for a foul. Kazimierz Niespodziewany was in no condition to play on. He left the field limping after 22 minutes, with his left thigh bandaged. The player that took his place was Ángel De los Reyes. Kazimierz Niespodziewany was coming off, and had placed his last free kick for the day. That meant that Konstantin Vreydal got the chance to showcase his dead ball skills. After 28 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Pedro Sabino Andrade Rodrigues who increased S.o.G.'s lead to 0 - 2. The visitors' Ilias Koutsouris took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 29 minutes into the match. 0 - 3 for S.o.G.. Pedro Sabino Andrade Rodrigues was, after 31 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper Geo Semenciuc made the save. 37 into the match, S.o.G.'s Paolo Grossi fell flat on his chest. After a breather, he was ready to continue. Andrzej Smolnik received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 38 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 4. The S.o.G. fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. 0 - 4 was the halftime score. Neither team were able to dominate possession this half.

Pott didn't give in and with 48 minutes played Ángel De los Reyes was able to make the score 1 - 4 after an attack on the right. The home crowd cheered when, after 62 minutes, Franco Pinto's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. A misunderstanding between the visitors' keeper Franz Gumppenberg and his left defence could have resulted in a goal for Pott, but Philipp Lubitsch's finish was way too lame. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Olaf Rogowski got himself booked. The manager of Pott was not happy. With 83 minutes played, Florian Kimbern was very close to reducing the score for Pott with a low drive from the left, but a defender stuck his foot out just in the nick of time, blocking the shot to a corner. 85 minutes into the game, S.o.G. worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch. With 86 minutes gone, a long pass from the defence of Pott resulted in a counterattack that set Aristide Djengoue free through the middle, but the keeper made a spectacular diving save. The referee announced 2 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 1 - 4. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Pott, with 51 percent of the ball.

Pott's best player was Konstantin Vreydal. Pjotr Weijland on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating S.o.G. player was without a doubt Meduardas Maščenskas. On the other hand, Timo Meurer-Philippi's play was disheartening.
