Cubite 1 - 3 Sdaizu

Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 9131 at Cubite Arena today. Kalilou Doumbiya was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Martys Kazakaitis and Leszek Narkiewicz. People from all over Emilia Romagna had joined up for the derby. Lineup: Georgescu - Balzaretti, Bosloo, Bulin, Bram, Martins Simões - Giller, Grant, Sada - Szekfű, Barral.

They fielded: Cerioli - Čorić, Boară, Nağme - Guiza, Quốc Thái, Hagen, Sequeira Silva, Viskil - Rada, Walenkamp.

Cubite Club started the game in a 5-3-2 formation, whereas Sdaizu lined up in a 3-5-2 formation. Cubite clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could, taking advantage of their extra-terrestrial level with that tactic. Sdaizu used their formidable skill at pressing to cut off the attack angles of their opponents all over the field. Nguyễn Quốc Thái dispatched a majestic long shot 3 minutes into the match, but missed the goal by a few metres. The referee showed Cubite's Chanan Giller the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Pelaxio Barral was the first to reach the corner kick, but his header was blocked by the keeper. However, Cubite's Chanan Giller managed to get hold of the rebound and tucked the ball into the empty net. 1 - 0 Sdaizu's ability to press all over the field frequently paid dividends. Sdaizu's Paulo Domingos Sequeira Silva got himself booked for a foul. After 37 minutes, following yet another great corner, Erke Nağme's flick on at the near post reached Adrian Boară, who was just wide with his snapshot - the ball went out for a goal kick. At this time in the match, Sdaizu were using their skill at pressing to successfully stifle the game. The game was close to savage at times, and Cubite's Chanan Giller received a second yellow card after 39 minutes; his ticket out of the game. 1 - 0 was the halftime score. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Sdaizu, with 78 percent of the ball.

With 55 minutes played, the Sdaizu coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. David Lohbrügge came on, Erke Nağme had to leave the fray. The pressing tactics used by Sdaizu were successful as the ball remained close to the half way line at all times. Kenneth Walenkamp finished off a quick charge from the left of the field by chipping the ball just past the home side's keeper, making the score 1 - 1 65 minutes into the match. A mistake by the home side's central defence after 70 minutes allowed Pavao Čorić to score for Sdaizu. The scoreboard now read 1 - 2. Pavao Čorić of Sdaizu took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 72 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 1 - 3. Nguyễn Quốc Thái wanted to play on, but the Sdaizu coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 78 minutes into the game by Grzegorz Czapor. Iustin Rada left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 80 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. Nicola Area was the replacement. With 85 minutes played, Salomon Viskil nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. 86 minutes into the game Cubite managed a counterattack, but Pelaxio Barral took a soft shot from the left flank that was easy prey for the alert keeper. The referee announced 2 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 1 - 3. Possession in this half belonged to Sdaizu, who controlled the ball 80 percent of the time.

Most important Cubite player was Salvador Martins Simões. İbrahim Sada was a disappointment, however. The most dominating Sdaizu player was without a doubt Paulo Domingos Sequeira Silva. Virgilio Cerioli turned in a dismal performance, however.
