Clouds darkened the skies at Football Academy Arena as 175700 spectators turned up for the match. Georg Novak was the appointed referee with assistance provided by and Tiziano Debiasi. The arena management had taken the extraordinary decision to boost some sections with temporary seats in order to guarantee every fan a place in the stadium. The following players had been chosen: Higginbotham - Ramsey, House, Charlemagne, Lynch - Lyons, Wint, Snipes, Hill - Honeygan, Nelson.

The following players took the field: Bulla - Eisenhoffer, Gáspár, Lehel - Csicsák, Pánczél, Hegedűs, Krucsai, Kárpáti - Tuli, Balinski.

The teams had chosen different formations for the match. Home team Barbados went for 4-4-2 while Magyarország has decided to play a 3-5-2 lineup. Barbados were relying on their magical ability to counter-attack. Clarke Snipes caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 10 minutes. This gave Barbados the 1 - 0 lead. Clever play that showed his experience gave Orlando Nelson a good chance to score, but the shot hit the crossbar. Coming through the middle Csaba Tuli almost scored the equaliser for Magyarország after 24 minutes, but Delano Higginbotham made an excellent save, tipping the awkward curled shot past the post. The visitors' equaliser seemed sure to come after 29 minutes, following a one on one situation around the left hand side of the goal area, but Delano Higginbotham got the best of it, blocking the shot from Thorben Balinski. With 36 minutes played, Tyrone Lyons could have brought this one home for Barbados as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. Gábor Krucsai finished off a quick charge from the left of the field by chipping the ball just past the home side's keeper, making the score 1 - 1 38 minutes into the match. With the clock showing 42 minutes played, a great pass from the defensive line of Barbados resulted in a counterattack that was smoothly brought under control by Sheldon Honeygan in the centre of the opposition's penalty area, but his finish went high. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 1. Magyarország claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 66 percent.

48 minutes into the game, Csaba Tuli was a hair's breadth away from giving Magyarország the lead with a shot from over on the left. A prompt block by Delano Higginbotham saved the home team that time. After 49 minutes Barbados tried to exploit their counterattacking skills, unfortunately, Sean Hill's shot sailed wide after his break down the right. 55 minutes into the game, Lőrinc Hegedűs had a great chance to put his team ahead, but his kick from the left went wide. 66 minutes into the match, the Magyarország manager wanted to try a new tactic, and the players loyally obliged. With the match clock at 66 minutes, Magyarország modified their style of play a little bit. The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of Magyarország's Kristóf Eisenhoffer after 74 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 1 - 2 lead. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Magyarország coach let Roland Csepeli replace Csaba Tuli after 76 minutes. In the lead, Magyarország adjusted their style of play with 76 minutes gone. A drive down the left side allowed Thorben Balinski to get in close and score another goal for Magyarország after 80 minutes, taking the score to 1 - 3. The Magyarország coach was visibly pleased with the score so far, but still ordered a few tactical changes 81 minutes into the game. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 1 minute of added time they, nonetheless, welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. The match ends 1 - 3. Magyarország had most of the ball, with 65 percent of possession.

The most dominating Barbados player was without a doubt Sheldon Honeygan. Tom Charlemagne was a disappointment, however. Magyarország's top performer was clearly Thorben Balinski. Sándor Gáspár turned in a dismal performance, however.
