Atus 3 - 2 Madrileno

Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 31677 at Bgy SE Arena today. Andrea Modenesi was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Emmanuel Mazier and Mark Vissers. They fielded: Lakatos - Timman, Durand, Pelozo, Szák - Demange, Jugo, Jannitti, Kempen - Francescon, Ulian.

Lineup: Erksoy - Lipman, Gensini, Obregón, van Sichem, Bovenzi - Solomon, Torrego, Rajczi, Alnıak, Azenha -.

Atus SE fielded a 4-4-2 lineup. For Madrileno, the formation of choice was 5-5-0. Atus saw most attack opportunities on the wings, taking advantage of their magical level with that tactic. Madrileno preferred to finish off their attacks from a distance, taking advantage of their mythical level with that tactic. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Adam Lipman got himself booked. The manager of Madrileno was not happy. The cannonball from 35 metres by Germán Andrés Obregón of Madrileno was an impressive sight, but didn't make it into the net. Atus broke through on the left 23 minutes into the game, with Elvis Ulian firing in from an acute angle to give the home side a 1 - 0 lead. Pasquale Jannitti of Atus received a yellow card after 25 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Madrileno's Menno van Sichem took a knock to the head after 35 minutes, due to a badly executed header. He took a few uneasy steps, but got dizzy and then taken off the field. The replacement for the injured player was Szilárd Dragóner. Atus increased the lead as Elvis Ulian struck to make the score 2 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. The unexpected cross pass from Atus's Mario Timman after 41 minutes opened up the defence and was received by Aurélien Demange who finished off for 3 - 0. Some beautiful play by Madrileno set up Nicolae Solomon in a good shooting position after 42 minutes, but Gábor Lakatos made a great save on the low hard shot. 3 - 0 was the halftime score. Madrileno had most of the ball, with 66 percent of possession.

Madrileno succeeded with their tactics after 50 minutes faking a cross into the penalty area, but instead passing a short side pass back to Adam Lipman who met the ball directly with his outstretched foot. The hard long shot touched the keeper's finger tips, but it wasn't enough to stop it from going in. 3 - 1. 56 minutes into the match, the visitors reduced the lead to 3 - 2 as a free kick by Adam Lipman slunk past the home side's goalkeeper. Madrileno's Szilárd Dragóner was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 61 minutes. Coming from the right, Cyril Durand almost managed to score another goal for Atus, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper. 85 minutes in, Madrileno's Germán Andrés Obregón received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Bilge Erksoy went down after twisting his right ankle in minute 86, but was able to continue the match none the less. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 2 minutes of added time they, nonetheless, welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. After 89 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by Elvis Ulian might have resulted in another goal for Atus. However, Bilge Erksoy made a spectacular save. The match ends 3 - 2. Possession in this half belonged to Madrileno, who controlled the ball 65 percent of the time.

Atus's best player was Ferdinando Francescon. Péter Szák on the other hand, had a terrible day. Madrileno's top performer was clearly Tamás Rajczi. On the other hand, Szilárd Dragóner's play was disheartening.
