Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 7544 to Große Sachsen Arena. Mino Capaccioli was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Damián Ruiz and Kostas Lekanis. The following players had been chosen: Berthelsen - Albers, Chodowski, Silvennoinen - Jeske, Kräuter, Ungar-Huber, Manta, Sonderhausen - Moradei, Martyntsev.

Lineup: Vilner - Janzer, Flad - Bronner, Givon, Vonhoegen, Gkiourdas, Vierbücher - Lewin, Ehlert, Baath.

FC Dresdner Blitze entered the field in a 3-5-2 formation. The visitors, Albtal-Kicker, chose to start the game with a 2-5-3 lineup. With 2 minutes played, the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending. Siegbrand Baath put the ball away for 0 - 1. 10 minutes in, Dresdner's Hannes Silvennoinen received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. 10 minutes into the game, Lahav Givon had to leave the field due to a rib injury. The replacement for the injured player was Anastasio Hanssen. As Lahav Givon left the field, the coach signaled to Anastasio Hanssen to be the new set pieces taker. Marko Lewin received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 13 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 2. The Albtal-Kicker fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. Hilger Janzer caught everyone off guard with a great opening pass - but unfortunately Herbert Bronner was as surprised by the move as anybody else, and managed to miss the extraordinary opportunity. Anastasio Hanssen was, after 17 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper Find Berthelsen made the save. After the ball was lifted in from the left, Anastasio Hanssen was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 18 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. After 19 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave Marko Lewin a chance to increase the lead for Albtal-Kicker, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 3. Halftime score was 0 - 3. Albtal-Kicker had most of the ball, with 56 percent of possession.

57 minutes into the game a free kick by Anastasio Hanssen found its way through the home side's poorly assembled defensive formation, making Albtal-Kicker's lead 0 - 4. A marvellous Dresdner effort on the right-hand side resulted in a goal after 59 minutes by Robby Ungar-Huber, making the score 1 - 4. After 60 minutes of game time, Marko Lewin had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but Find Berthelsen was in the right place and tipped the ball over for a corner. After 61 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Hermann Flad who increased Albtal-Kicker's lead to 1 - 5. After 65 minutes Albert Martyntsev could have reduced the lead with a blistering strike from the left wing, had it not been for an excellent block by the visitors' keeper. An indecisive keeper looked on as a free kick by Albtal-Kicker's Anastasio Hanssen put the visitors up 1 - 6 after 78 minutes. 80 minutes into the match, Dresdner's Calogero Moradei collected a ball sent down the right and put it in the back of the net, narrowing the score to 2 - 6. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 3 minutes of added time they, nonetheless, welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. The match ends 2 - 6. Albtal-Kicker enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 58 percent of possession.

Most important Dresdner player was Mircea Manta. However, Claus Sonderhausen made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating Albtal-Kicker player was without a doubt Anastasio Hanssen. Itzchak Vilner on the other hand, had a terrible day.
