Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 21538 at Patik INFERNO today. Lyubomir Atanasov was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Ilija vidaković and Cristian Di Puccio. Lineup: Sello - Branigan, Mufamadi, Ramahanoe - Ngwane, Nkosi, Caesar, Godfrey-Brown - Nkopane, Burke, Maddock.

The following players had been chosen: Abdullah - Supriarso, Fredly, Maryono - Bukhori, Meliala, Suud, Andalas - Name, Ranggalawe, Salossa.

3-4-3 was the choice of the day for both coaches. U-20 Indonesia immediately set off using their inadequate skill at pressing their opponents. The pressing tactics used by U-20 Indonesia were successful as the ball remained close to the half way line at all times. As Jaja Meliala had, completely unprovoked, swept the legs out from under an opponent in front of a linesman, the referee gave the U-20 Indonesia player a red card without batting an eyelid. With 15 minutes played, the home side managed to get a 1 - 0 lead as Ryan Caesar flipped the ball in after a cross from the right. U-20 Indonesia were close to putting the equaliser away after 17 minutes as the opposing defence lost control of the ball to Rasji Name in a scuffle towards the left of the goal, but in the end the ball was cleared over the dead ball line. Cheers filled the stadium as Daligqili Ngwane broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 2 - 0 to U-20 South Africa. At this time in the match, U-20 Indonesia were using their skill at pressing to successfully stifle the game. 35 minutes in, U-20 Indonesia appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only weak. Halftime score was 2 - 0. U-20 South Africa claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 64 percent.

The U-20 Indonesia players spent the break getting a rerun of the team's tactical organisation and regained a passable organisation when the game started again. Content with how the game was proceeding, the U-20 South Africa coach let Geoffrey Holmes replace Owen Maddock after 46 minutes. With Owen Maddock no longer on the pitch, Geoffrey Holmes took over free kick duty. Kwame Mufamadi wanted to play on, but the U-20 South Africa coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 46 minutes into the game by Goatsemodime Lekgetho. As the captain was no longer on the pitch, Kefentse Ramahanoe took over the role of being the U-20 South Africa captain. Daligqili Ngwane left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 46 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. Keshan Hlomelang was the replacement. The bench was restless, and with 46 minutes passed U-20 Indonesia's coach gave Restu Azhari the opportunity the player had been hoping for. Suban Abdullah reluctantly left the field. U-20 Indonesia needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 46 minutes Nuron Supriarso made way for Arthur Widyantoro. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, U-20 Indonesia's Lasyahti Ranggalawe was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 46 minutes. Asbi Pieterz was given a chance to change things around. U-20 Indonesia's ability to press all over the field frequently paid dividends. A well placed corner kick from Aris Prasetiya Andalas was followed by Arthur Widyantoro's hard but accurate header. The well executed routine resulted in a goal for U-20 Indonesia, the score now 2 - 1. Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 76 minutes, U-20 South Africa did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker, Ganpathi Nkopane was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 3 - 1. The home side's Geoffrey Holmes curled a free kick home after 78 minutes, putting U-20 South Africa ahead 4 - 1. Against a lesser team, U-20 South Africa could very well have succeeded with their smart indirect free kick routine after 81 minutes. A trio of passes took the ball all the way past the defenders, but by then the intended recipient was already blocked off and the keeper could make a leisurely save. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 1 minute beyond the regular 90 minutes. The match ends 4 - 1. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by U-20 South Africa, with 67 percent of the ball.

The most dominating U-20 South Africa player was without a doubt Goatsemodime Lekgetho. Thabo Sello turned in a dismal performance, however. U-20 Indonesia's best player was Yoel Bukhori. Restu Azhari on the other hand, had a terrible day.
