3056 spectators had come to almasalgeiros Arena this cloudy day. Leontin Stãnica was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Rafa Farré and Markku Mäkinen. Lineup: Antunes - Simões Martins, Maia, Abelaira, Carvalho Jorge, Fonseca Ribeiro - Rebelo, Zvara, Sousa Correia - Mahdavi, Cunha.

The following players had been chosen: Balsu - Tesarczyk, Balotelli, Grenda, Pyrkowski - Biegański, Tietz, Cichorz, Stypułkowski, Kuban - Gwizdała.

AlmaSalgueiros started the game in a 5-3-2 formation, whereas Biało- Zieloni lined up in a 4-5-1 formation. ASALGUEIRO clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could, taking advantage of their brilliant level with that tactic. BZB used their inadequate skill at pressing to cut off the attack angles of their opponents all over the field. BZB's Mieczysław 'Megi' Gwizdała has the wonderful ability to create chances out of thin air. 2 minutes into the match he bamboozled a couple of opposition defenders before sending the keeper the wrong way and sidefooting the ball home into an empty net. That totally unexpected burst of flair made it 0 - 1. ASALGUEIRO were great at switching from defence to attack, and after 9 minutes, Fábio Rebelo swept through the middle on a counterattack, making the score 1 - 1. ASALGUEIRO took the lead 17 minutes into the game by 2 - 1, as Péter Zvara elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. Cheers filled the stadium as Rui Cláudio Abelaira broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 3 - 1 to ASALGUEIRO. BZB's Mieczysław 'Megi' Gwizdała was able to reply, after 23 minutes, making the score 3 - 2 with a well struck penalty. Benjamim Simões Martins of ASALGUEIRO received a yellow card after 30 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. It was 3 - 2 at the break. Possession in this half belonged to ASALGUEIRO, who controlled the ball 59 percent of the time.

With 46 minutes played, the BZB coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. Marek Niezgoda came on, Mirosław Cichorz had to leave the fray. With 58 minutes played, Daniel Carvalho Jorge could have brought this one home for ASALGUEIRO as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. The bench was restless, and with 62 minutes passed BZB's coach gave Waldemar Siudy the opportunity the player had been hoping for. Marcin Kuban reluctantly left the field. BZB pressed their opponents, causing the game to be a bit of a stalemate at times. BZB needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 70 minutes Karol Tietz made way for Przemysław Holewiński. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Marek Niezgoda got himself booked. The manager of BZB was not happy. BZB had to manage with a reduced squad after 78 minutes, as Mieczysław 'Megi' Gwizdała got sent off for a needless foul away from the game's action. As Mieczysław 'Megi' Gwizdała left the field, the coach signaled to Jarosław Grenda to be the new set pieces taker. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. Fábio Rebelo squirmed through their central defence after 81 minutes, increasing the lead to 4 - 2. The referee announced 1 minute of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 4 - 2. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by ASALGUEIRO, with 62 percent of the ball.

ASALGUEIRO's best player was Firmino Cunha. Manuel António Antunes on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating BZB player was without a doubt Gregorio Balotelli. However, Jakub Tesarczyk made a disastrous appearance.
