3.FC 3 - 4 Sadistan

30913 fans braved the pouring rain at Stadion am Dom. Gabriel Barbadilla was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Alfred Vidmar and Chiel Bonnink. While a boggy pitch like this was an advantage for physical players, it really didn't help those who relied on speed or technique. Starters: Mattheos - Rubner, Derijcke, Taddeucci - Iske, , La Susa, Weggemans - Basarić, Henschke, Zeindl.

The following players took the field: Kima - Strnad, Bajo Fernández - Aloma, 辉光 (Huiguang), Nogues, Ghidini, Quiroga - Vergani, Faye, Biczkó.

3.FC Köln entered the field in a 3-4-3 formation. The visitors, Rep. of Sadistan, chose to start the game with a 2-5-3 lineup. 甘 (Gan) 辉光 (Huiguang) came close to putting the visiting team one up 27 minutes into the match, following a solo raid down the middle, but Nikos Mattheos managed to tip the ball to a corner. Always a threat, Gino Ghidini tore past his marker and placed the ball right at the feet of the waiting Uba Aloma who should have easily scored for Sadistan, but the ball went wide. Sadistan took the lead 32 minutes into the game, making the score 0 - 1 after some elegant movement down the middle. Kor Faye was the scorer. With 33 minutes played, after a good run down the left, Ewold Weggemans went down looking for a penalty after a challenge from the visitors' right fullback, but the referee waved play on, and later warned him for diving. It was a fine day for Valfredo Quiroga on his wing, his cross pass to Maurizio Vergani was especially delicate 34 minutes into the game, but the keeper saved. With a shot curled in from just outside the middle of the penalty area after 38 minutes played, Eugenio La Susa of 3.FC made the score 1 - 1. They were singing the praises of Friedel Zeindl 39 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 2 - 1 to 3.FC. 2 - 1 was the score after the first half. Possession in this half belonged to 3.FC, who controlled the ball 53 percent of the time.

The visiting team's Pedro Bajo Fernández was able to score the 2 - 2 equaliser with a header 59 minutes into the match, after some good work on the right. Some quick footwork on the left side of the field 76 minutes into the match left Sadistan's Rodrigo Nogues completely free to score. 2 - 3 for the visitors. No matter how hard he tried, Konstantin Basarić just couldn't get his shot past the visitors' right side defence after 77 minutes. The visitors' Valfredo Quiroga took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 79 minutes into the match. 2 - 4 for Sadistan. 3.FC's Olav Iske placed the ball right at his teammate's feet after a corner, but Eugenio La Susa couldn't finish. Uba Aloma was, after 82 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper Nikos Mattheos made the save. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 1 minute of added time they, nonetheless, welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. 89 minutes into the game 3.FC broke through on the left wing and Mike Henschke managed to reduce the lead to 3 - 4. The match ends 3 - 4. 3.FC enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 53 percent of possession.

3.FC's best player was Konstantin Basarić. Giancarlo Taddeucci was a disappointment, however. Sadistan's top performer was clearly 甘 (Gan) 辉光 (Huiguang). On the other hand, Karsten Strnad's play was disheartening.
