Reds 3 - 2 Sadistan

Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 31845 to Collosseum NB. Alfredo Oliveros was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Matteo Alinari and Lampis Aggelinas. Lineup: Gazzera - Bachlaut, Omiadze, Gasser - Buendía González, Melcarne, Olsson, Teale, Rosalém - 町田 (Machida), Moronta.

The following players took the field: Kima - Strnad, Bajo Fernández - Nogues, 辉光 (Huiguang), Michel, Ghidini, Quiroga - Obedeanu, Pagello, Goyaes.

The teams had chosen different formations for the match. Home team Red Devils Nbdg. went for 3-5-2 while Rep. of Sadistan has decided to play a 2-5-3 lineup. After 9 minutes, Valfredo Quiroga sprinted between the opposing defenders and squared the ball, but the keeper deflected Laurean Obedeanu's shot. 佳介 (Keisuke) 町田 (Machida) gave Reds the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 1 - 0 Sadistan's right side looked dangerous 11 minutes in, but Flavio Gazzera made a good save on Abramo Pagello's hard shot to the top corner. The referee showed Sadistan's Nicolas Michel the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. 31 minutes into the game Sadistan's Pedro Bajo Fernández found a gap in the home side's central defence and scored with a fabulous shot, making it 1 - 1. 34 minutes of the match played, and a comedy of errors by the home side gave the visitors a chance at the lead, but Abramo Pagello, after finding himself dashing down on goal from the left with only the keeper to beat, sliced his shot horribly wide. Using his strength as an edge, 佳介 (Keisuke) 町田 (Machida) pressed the Sadistan defence to make an error. He wrapped up by scoring 2-1 himself, 38 minutes into the game. Halftime score was 2 - 1. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Sadistan, with 51 percent of the ball.

The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave Valfredo Quiroga from Sadistan a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 54 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! After 55 minutes, 佳介 (Keisuke) 町田 (Machida) slowly got up on his feet, clutching his left thigh, but eventually signalled that he was ready to play on. Valfredo Quiroga made a nice dash down the wing after 61 minutes, but was unable to get the cross into the box. A goal kick was awarded. 66 minutes into the match the visitors levelled the score at 2 - 2 as Gino Ghidini struck home from a rebound off the crossbar, following a shot from the right. As the 70 minute mark approached, the Sadistan coach decided it was time for a substitution. Nicolas Michel reluctantly made way for Uba Aloma on the pitch. 75 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Sadistan substitution. Kor Faye came on for Abramo Pagello. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to Ignacio Moronta, but the Reds player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 3 - 2! An equalising goal was close at hand, but Pedro Bajo Fernández clipped a free kick just wide of the goal. The referee announced 2 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 3 - 2. Neither team was controlling the possession at this point in the match, with the stats showing a 50:50 split.

The most dominating Reds player was without a doubt 佳介 (Keisuke) 町田 (Machida). Stephan Gasser on the other hand, had a terrible day. Sadistan's best player was Laurean Obedeanu. On the other hand, Karsten Strnad's play was disheartening.
