Licores 0 - 4 Soluy

6243 punters turned up at Borrachitos SAS, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. Mariano Bolognesi was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Dustin Blackman and Arve Bakke. They fielded: Lúpiz - Balbuena, Camargo, Garzón, Güarín - Grijalba, Corredor, Bermúdez, Alonso - Narváez, Parenté.

Starters: Małkus - Nettis, Colpa, Fogelquist - Aparicio, Wilches, Giraldo, Ladino, Castillo - Foreth, Otvoş.

The teams had chosen different formations for the match. Home team Compro Licores went for 4-4-2 while Soluy Soccer Club has decided to play a 3-5-2 lineup. Licores immediately set off using their passable skill at pressing their opponents. Soluy seemed to prefer attacking in the middle, taking advantage of their formidable level with that tactic. The terraces were silenced after 9 minutes when Soluy's Karel Foreth put the guests ahead 0 - 1, following an attack on the right. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Diego Armando Narváez got himself booked. The manager of Licores was not happy. With 20 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed Saúl Castillo of Soluy to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 2. Soluy were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. Saúl Castillo was, after 21 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper Laureano Lúpiz made the save. It was a fine day for Felipe Alonso on his wing, his cross pass to Diego Armando Narváez was especially delicate 22 minutes into the game, but the keeper saved. A late sliding challenge from Diego Armando Narváez was deemed to be his second yellow card offence by the referee, resulting in him being sent off, and Licores left a man down. Licores's ability to press all over the field frequently paid dividends. It was 0 - 2 at the break. Soluy enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 71 percent of possession.

The home crowd cheered when, after 64 minutes, Michael Fogelquist's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. The pressing tactics used by Licores were successful as the ball remained close to the half way line at all times. Licores's Darío Grijalba was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 76 minutes. Soluy's Arthuro Colpa refused to leave the field despite hurting his back 79 minutes into the match. It was obvious that team Soluy had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. The visitors' Karel Foreth took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 82 minutes into the match. 0 - 3 for Soluy. After 84 minutes, Edgar Balbuena took a hard knock between his legs. He needed a long breather but were eventually able to continue the game. Karel Foreth could have put his team up another goal 85 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post. After 87 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Karel Foreth who increased Soluy's lead to 0 - 4. At that, Karel Foreth was noted down for a hat trick! Laureano Lúpiz got a fingertip on Arthuro Colpa's shot from the left 88 minutes in, and managed to keep the visitors from going up another goal. It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 2 minutes. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! The match ends 0 - 4. Soluy claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 73 percent.

Licores's top performer was clearly Brice Parenté. Eusebio Güarín on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Soluy player was without a doubt Jimmy Giraldo. Dominik Małkus turned in a dismal performance, however.
