Twelfth 0 - 2 Pewsum

Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 46298 at The Aerie today. Roberto Crotta was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Fredrik Hagelin and Damiano Scarsoglio. They fielded: Truelsen - Vacirca, Žiros, Romano - Stout, Geladaris, Barriga, Worobiej, Maslin - Gaudin, Haberger.

The following players had been chosen: Dubois - Rather, Richards, Marconi, Caycedo - Onieva, LeMaire, Bradshaw, Stallworth - Leduc, Gregory.

Hawks12 started the game in a 3-5-2 formation, whereas TuS Pewsum lined up in a 4-4-2 formation. Pewsum clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could, taking advantage of their titanic level with that tactic. Many thought Fritjof Haberger ought to have been awarded a penalty 21 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around Marc Dubois after a determined run through the middle. Pewsum almost scored after a counterattack 22 minutes into the match, but Alex Stallworth took a shot from the left that landed harmlessly in the side of the net. Twelfth's Jakub Worobiej showed off his trademark ability to do the unexpected with a tricky pass after 23 minutes. Unfortunately, James Stout was startled by the play and wasn't able to control the finish. Antonio Romano was very close to giving Twelfth the lead with an ingenious free kick routine 27 minutes into the match, but the ball just grazed the bar. Cole Gregory was first to reach a ball launched long through the center from Pewsum's defence 28 minutes into the game. He managed to keep his cool and beat the goalkeeper to make the score 0 - 1. Halftime score was 0 - 1. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Twelfth, with 65 percent of the ball.

The visitors' Kirk Bradshaw took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 59 minutes into the match. 0 - 2 for Pewsum. After 60 minutes, Cayetano Barriga had a good opportunity to reduce the scoreline for Twelfth with a chance created through the middle, but wasn't cool enough. The ball went miles over the bar. The match ends 0 - 2. Possession in this half belonged to Twelfth, who controlled the ball 61 percent of the time.

Twelfth's top performer was clearly Fritjof Haberger. James Stout turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating Pewsum player was without a doubt Cole Gregory. Alejandro Luis Onieva on the other hand, had a terrible day.
