The 145158 spectators at FC Hyderabad Arena were in for an afternoon of sunshine. Alojzy Wieliński was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Shohjahon To’xtaxunov and Carlos Montenegro. In some sections of the arena it was filled to capacity, and temporary seats had to be added for more people to be allowed in. For some players the sunny weather was bad news. It made Powerful and Quick players a bit sluggish. For Technical players, it was instead an advantage, allowing them to shine on the pitch. They fielded: Godharvi - Quraishi, Bhutta - Siddiqui, Javed, Khan, Shahjahan, Asjad - Shariq, Wattoo, Khosa.

Lineup: Ranggalawe - Kido, Pieterz, Bukhori - Aksa, Roring, Supriarso, Sambuaga, Ronggodani - Zamroni, Widyantoro.

The teams had chosen different formations for the match. Home team U-20 Pakistan went for 2-5-3 while U-20 Indonesia has decided to play a 3-5-2 lineup. 0 - 1 was the score with 6 minutes played, after Nuron Supriarso cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal for U-20 Indonesia. U-20 Pakistan's Sohrab Bhutta was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 14 minutes. 0 - 1 was the halftime score. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by U-20 Pakistan, with 53 percent of the ball.

The U-20 Indonesia players could smell victory in the air. Arthur Widyantoro wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for Hamam Rais after 66 minutes. Asbi Pieterz was handed the U-20 Indonesia captain's armband. After 66 minutes, the U-20 Indonesia players received new instructions from their manager on how to keep in control of the game. After a short break after 66 minutes, U-20 Indonesia seemed to change their tactical approach a bit. The crowd was amused as Supriyono Roring of U-20 Indonesia used a few interesting tricks and dribbles to get into the penalty box. The finish by Masperi Ronggodani wasn't very amusing, however, as the ball flew way over the crossbar. After 67 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave Vicky Kido a chance to increase the lead for U-20 Indonesia, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 2. U-20 Indonesia's Hamam Rais refused to leave the field despite hurting his back 68 minutes into the match. Meraj Siddiqui's lightning pace was too much for Yoel Bukhori who could only look on as the U-20 Pakistan player blasted one home. 1 - 2. The visitors' Ruli Zamroni took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 86 minutes into the match. 1 - 3 for U-20 Indonesia. With the scoreboard clock showing 87 minutes, the inexperienced U-20 Indonesia team fell into disarray. U-20 Indonesia's Yoel Bukhori got himself booked for a foul. The referee announced 1 minute of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 1 - 3. U-20 Pakistan enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 53 percent of possession.

The most dominating U-20 Pakistan player was without a doubt Wakeel Khosa. Asfandyar Asjad was a disappointment, however. Ruli Zamroni performed admirably for U-20 Indonesia. On the other hand, Masperi Ronggodani's play was disheartening.
