It had rained all day, but 27016 hardy fans still made it out to Iroqouis Arena. Laurenz Berger was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Ignacio Lamas and Fred Stegemann. For strong, physical players the heavy rain was easy to overcome, it was even an advantage given their style of play. Others, such as the quick or technical ones, made bleaker appearances. The teams had chosen different formations for the match. Home team Mohawk Warriors went for 4-4-2 while KKS Posiaki has decided to play a 3-5-2 lineup. Some good play on the left wing created an opportunity for the visitors 5 minutes into the match, and Jerzy Zimowski wasn't about to let it go by. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. 0 - 1 for the visitors. 8 minutes into the game, Aurelio Saraceni came close to levelling the score with a dangerous shot from the centre of the area that went just over the bar. After 16 minutes, Adrian Jeschki sprinted between the opposing defenders and squared the ball, but the keeper deflected Vilmos Gondár's shot. With 18 minutes played, Posiaki put themselves up 0 - 2 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was Vít Topol. After 19 minutes a well-practised indirect free kick routine by Posiaki was easily anticipated by the defenders. The players forward were so well marked, they were left with few viable options. A misunderstanding between the visitors' keeper Romain Pierret and his left defence could have resulted in a goal for Warriors, but Carlos Durán's finish was way too lame. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 2. Warriors claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 54 percent.

Adrian Jeschki's speed was clear to see after 48 minutes, as he darted down the wing and released Damian Gustavo Torreiro who placed the ball into the back of the net to make the score 0 - 3. Antonio Albertini went down after twisting his right ankle in minute 54, but was able to continue the match none the less. Gniewko Ilnicki almost seemed to dance around Luděk Bouška, his movements were so smooth. Unfortunately for Warriors, his finish ended up on the wrong side of the post. The Warriors players listened closely to their manager, as he gave new tactical instructions for the team. With the scoreboard showing that 75 minutes had been played, Posiaki nearly put themselves up another goal after Adon Goiena came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save. Warriors needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 80 minutes Giuliano Calabrese made way for Manuel Luca de Tena. The bench was restless, and with 80 minutes passed Warriors's coach gave Luigi Paolo Manfrini the opportunity the player had been hoping for. Carlos Durán reluctantly left the field. With Carlos Durán no longer on the pitch, Yuri Fusi took over free kick duty. With 80 minutes played, the Warriors coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. Jarosław Najda came on, Maksim Artasov had to leave the fray. 82 minutes in, Warriors's Mateusz Rytlewski received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 1 minute of added time they, nonetheless, welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. The match ends 0 - 3. Warriors had most of the ball, with 55 percent of possession.

Warriors's top performer was clearly Yuriy Rostovskiy. However, Antonio Albertini made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating Posiaki player was without a doubt Vilmos Gondár. Beniamin Gwardys was a disappointment, however.
