The 139978 fans in attendance at Cows Arena were roasting in the hot sun. Aad Boon was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Ferdinand Reeperbahn and Pierre-Louis Mathieu. The arena management had taken the extraordinary decision to boost some sections with temporary seats in order to guarantee every fan a place in the stadium. It was a very hot day and some players suffered from this, especially those relying on tough physical play or a lot of fast runs. For the technical ones, on the other hand, this was ideal conditions. They fielded: de Bye - Vrijdag, Oorthuis, Azra'i, Supriyadi - Blunder, Babel, Winter, Ananda - Bouterse, Vriesde.

The following players had been chosen: Antal - Berzsenyi, Kucsa, Csepeli - Dénesi, Szenteczki, Hegedűs, Lattek, Kárpáti - Zatykó, Balinski.

It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 4-4-2 formation while the visitors instead opted for 3-5-2. Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Suriname, taking advantage of their magical level with that tactic. Magyarország showed off their divine (+2) creative tactics. Suriname created a good opportunity to score 11 minutes into the match when Demilio 'Ifrish' Bouterse's hooked ball from the left created a scuffle in front of the goal, and the visitors' defenders had a hard time clearing the ball. The guests almost went up by a goal after 14 minutes when Rafael Lattek came through and shot from the right. The ball bounced harmlessly off the post, though. 24 minutes into the game, Cecil Winter broke up a promising Magyarország attack single-handedly, using just the right amount of physical pressure on the ball holder. Márk 'Landers' Szenteczki was unable to continue, following a slight injury to his right knee after 29 minutes. The replacement for the injured player was Dániel Csató. A counterattack by Suriname after 36 minutes could have resulted in a goal, but Demilio 'Ifrish' Bouterse, coming in on the left, couldn't get the shot off. Magyarország's Koppány Zatykó managed to lose the defenders as he advanced down the right wing and scored, putting the visitors ahead after 37 minutes. 0 - 1. Halftime score was 0 - 1. Magyarország had most of the ball, with 63 percent of possession.

Krisztián Dénesi received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 49 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 2. The Magyarország fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. A corner kick created great disorder in the penalty area with a goal nearly scored by Bruce 'Lights Out' Vriesde. At last, Suriname's Demilio 'Ifrish' Bouterse was able to backheel the ball in. 1 - 2. Magyarország increased their lead after 60 minutes when Krisztián Dénesi broke through on the right, upping the score to 1 - 3, much to the home crowd's dismay. Elang Ananda was doing a great job on his wing, sending in brilliant passes to his teammates in the middle, but Jurie Blunder seemed unable to profit from this excellent service. Unhappy with the result so far in the game, the Suriname manager used a brief break in play after 70 minutes to give the players new directives. After 70 minutes, Suriname used a short break in the game to take new instructions from their coach. With the scoreboard showing that 79 minutes had been played, Magyarország nearly put themselves up another goal after Koppány Zatykó came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save. Coming in from the right, Suriname had a good opportunity to convert on a counterattack after 80 minutes, but Jurie Blunder's attempt to finish was easily stopped. After 81 minutes, Magyarország's lack of experience resulted in the team's loss of their edge at the end of the game. Magyarország came close to extending their lead as Bence Kárpáti delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 82 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting. Abu Supriyadi received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 83 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score. Zoltán Berzsenyi increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 1 - 4. The referee announced 1 minute of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 1 - 4. Magyarország claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 62 percent.

Suriname's best player was Bruce 'Lights Out' Vriesde. Abu Supriyadi turned in a dismal performance, however. Thorben Balinski performed admirably for Magyarország. On the other hand, János Kucsa's play was disheartening.
