217547 spectators arrived at MONTAGNAT STADIUM, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. Hendrik-Jan Landzaat was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Olympio Kamp and Jean Grossegger. Interestingly, a grand total of 66482 seats had been added as a way to boost capacity in certain areas of the arena. The following players took the field: Gonnet - Briault, Le Bihan, Ducros - Liotard, Rudorfer, Delrieu, Delaby, Martin - Pengam, Pignon.

Starters: Antal - Kiss, Csepeli, Lukovics, Berzsenyi - Kárpáti, Szenteczki, Lattek, Dénesi - Adorján, Zatykó.

The teams had chosen different formations for the match. Home team France went for 3-5-2 while Magyarország has decided to play a 4-4-2 lineup. France displayed their divine (+4) ability to play creatively. Magyarország clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could, taking advantage of their magical level with that tactic. Magyarország were able to draw a foul with their counterattacks, but the shot from Bence Kárpáti went into the arms of the keeper. With 27 minutes gone, Márk 'Landers' Szenteczki suddenly found himself completely free on the right wing when a counterattack by Magyarország caught their opponents by surprise. Only a great save by the opposing keeper prevented him from scoring. Slack defending gave France a chance to take the lead with 28 minutes played, but Jean-Matthieu Pignon's cross from the left flank was fumbled in front of the goal and easily dealt with by the opposition. France's Morgan Le Bihan tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders. Halftime score was 0 - 0. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by France, with 65 percent of the ball.

France made a bid to take the lead as a ball coming in on the right hand side left Morgan Le Bihan completely alone with keeper Dávid Antal, who made a spectacular block. Krisztián Dénesi made a nice dash down the wing after 62 minutes, but was unable to get the cross into the box. A goal kick was awarded. France broke through on the left 64 minutes into the game, with Jean-Matthieu Pignon firing in from an acute angle to give the home side a 1 - 0 lead. France's Rémy Liotard set up a perfect opportunity for Nicolas Delrieu, but the latter failed to score. The France coach was visibly pleased with the score so far, but still ordered a few tactical changes 80 minutes into the game. Cédric Pengam wanted to play on, but the France coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 80 minutes into the game by Grégory Bureau. The match ends 1 - 0. France enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 66 percent of possession.

France's top performer was clearly Jean-Matthieu Pignon. On the other hand, Morgan Le Bihan's play was disheartening. The most dominating Magyarország player was without a doubt Dávid Antal. Bence Kárpáti turned in a dismal performance, however.
