Creo 3 - 4 Atlético

The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 1792 had shown up at El Coliseo del Oeste for the match. Kazimierz Wites was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Sven Örnér and António Passos. The following players took the field: Nouguier - Moreira, Carpino, Mondino - Ciubuc, Carnevali, Oprządek, Rodríguez, Adanti - Rodríguez, Jeremies.

The following players had been chosen: Jantaraniyom - Luzardo, Pourahmad, Petta - Gabrich, Saric, Picón, Gassó - Verdetti, Weston, de Carvalho.

It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 3-5-2 formation while the visitors instead opted for 3-4-3. Atlético decided to play creatively at a magical level. After 12 minutes, Atlético put themselves up 0 - 1, as Miguel Jorge de Carvalho finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot. The crowd was on its feet 14 minutes into the match, as Creo's Reinhold Jeremies found himself unmarked in front of the goal after a dash up the left side. He calmly put away the 1 - 1 equaliser. Cameron 'Cowboy' Weston gave the visitors the lead 30 minutes into the match to make it 1 - 2. The goal was scored from the penalty spot after a handball in the penalty area. After 39 minutes, Atlético's Cameron 'Cowboy' Weston swiftly ran past Ciro Carpino and nutmegged the keeper! 1 - 3. A crazy pass by Pierluigi 'El Sargento' Carnevali towards his own keeper almost caused a goal for Atlético, but Cameron 'Cowboy' Weston didn't get the finish right. Rodolfo Picón was, after 43 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper Jean-Louis Nouguier made the save. The home side worked hard to get through the middle and as a result, had a good chance of getting one back as Reinhold Jeremies tried lifting the ball over keeper Sompong 'Tetrapack' Jantaraniyom. Unfortunately, the ball went just over the bar. 1 - 3 was the halftime score. Atlético enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 52 percent of possession.

The visitors' Néstor Ariel Gabrich took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 53 minutes into the match. 1 - 4 for Atlético. Pierluigi 'El Sargento' Carnevali was first to reach a ball launched long through the center from Creo's defence 62 minutes into the game. He managed to keep his cool and beat the goalkeeper to make the score 2 - 4. A slight injury to his right calf muscle meant Ciro Carpino had to leave the match early. It happened after 68 minutes. This gave François Duval a chance to take to the field instead. Giuseppe 'Asado Frío' Verdetti wanted to play on, but the Atlético coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 70 minutes into the game by Otniel 'El Ruso' Sarov. Miguel Jorge de Carvalho left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 70 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. Nicolás Emanuel 'Manteca' D'Abate was the replacement. Creo's Pedro Hipólito Adanti got the home crowd going when he finished off a left wing charge, reducing the away team's lead to 3 - 4. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 2 minutes beyond the regular 90 minutes. The match ends 3 - 4. Creo claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.

Most important Creo player was Gerardo 'el Bombardero' Rodríguez. Pedro Hipólito Adanti on the other hand, had a terrible day. Atlético's best player was Marcelo 'Pitón' Saric. Otniel 'El Ruso' Sarov turned in a dismal performance, however.
