Carlstad 5 - 0 BBV

Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and Tingvalla IP saw a crowd turnout of 3286. Davor Pačak was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Ronnie Platts and Noé Taspinar. The following players had been chosen: Cederlius - Gunnarsson, Dalsjö, Andersson, Edenstrand - Fwaya, Doelwijt, Eriş, Karamov, Ny - Jonasson.

They fielded: James-Roxby - Stewart, McMenamin, Brennan - Tierney, Doyle, Badham, Henry, Sinclair - Jennings, Crozier.

Team Carlstad started the game in a 4-5-1 formation, whereas Big Black Violators lined up in a 3-5-2 formation. BBV decided to play creatively at a excellent level. Don Sinclair was doing a great job on his wing, sending in brilliant passes to his teammates in the middle, but Adrian Henry seemed unable to profit from this excellent service. Many thought Armando Doelwijt ought to have been awarded a penalty 16 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around Anthony James-Roxby after a determined run through the middle. 32 minutes into the game, Islam Karamov broke up a promising BBV attack single-handedly, using just the right amount of physical pressure on the ball holder. 34 minutes in, Carlstad appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only passable. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to Oskar Jonasson, but the Carlstad player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0! Carlstad increased the lead as Samuel Fwaya struck to make the score 2 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave Samuel Fwaya from Carlstad a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 41 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Dave Crozier had a couple of good opportunities to reply after getting through the middle of the opposition defence, but the home team's keeper Tomas Cederlius was simply unbeatable. There was a promising attack by BBV after 43 minutes, but it was ultimately closed down by the powerful presence of Islam Karamov. 2 - 0 was the halftime score. Carlstad had most of the ball, with 59 percent of possession.

The Carlstad players spent the break getting a rerun of the team's tactical organisation and regained a solid organisation when the game started again. 55 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as Armando Doelwijt broke through, making the score 3 - 0 for Carlstad. Carlstad's Samuel Fwaya increased the lead to 4 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 64 minutes. Carlstad's Karl-Göran Ny was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the opposition's box - Oskar Jonasson managed to volley one of them into the net to make it 5 - 0 after 80 minutes. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 1 minute of added time they, nonetheless, welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. The match ends 5 - 0. Possession in this half belonged to Carlstad, who controlled the ball 64 percent of the time.

Karl-Göran Ny performed admirably for Carlstad. On the other hand, Carl-Henrik Andersson's play was disheartening. The most dominating BBV player was without a doubt Dave Crozier. Anthony James-Roxby on the other hand, had a terrible day.
