Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 51612 to The Shooting Gallery. Urh Majerčič was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Felipe González-Llano and Samuele Pinzuti. The following players had been chosen: Grinvald - İmaməliyev, Magee, Castro, Flowers, Godínez - Sommer, Pace, Aguiar, Domínguez - Yun.

They fielded: Dubois - Casillas, Marconi, Caycedo - Corona, LeMaire, Bradshaw, Stallworth, Lundin - Gregory, Leduc.

Pea Ridge Shooters fielded a 5-4-1 lineup. For TuS Pewsum, the formation of choice was 3-5-2. Ralph Yun gave Shooters the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 1 - 0 Given a free kick in a difficult position after 13 minutes, Pewsum tried a variation that they had practised in training. The kick was sent into the area just in front of the keeper. However, the defence were on their toes and allowed no space for a finish. A free kick just outside of the visitors' penalty area after 14 minutes could have resulted in another goal, but Marc Dubois got a hand out and tipped the ball over the bar. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave James Marconi from Pewsum a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 15 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! After 15 minutes, Micah Magee slowly got up on his feet, clutching his left thigh, but eventually signalled that he was ready to play on. The referee showed Pewsum's Kirk Bradshaw the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Good work by the Shooters defensive line after 40 minutes produced a good counterattack chance, which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found Ralph Yun alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide. It was 1 - 0 at the break. Shooters had most of the ball, with 52 percent of possession.

Pewsum had a chance to level the scores as Dalvin Lundin suddenly found himself free in the middle of the box with only the keeper to beat, but he misjudged the finish, and only managed to hit the bar. The home side's Carlos Alberto Castro came close to extending the lead 76 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but Marc Dubois managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. After 82 minutes, following yet another great corner, Nurlan İmaməliyev's flick on at the near post reached Micah Magee, who was just wide with his snapshot - the ball went out for a goal kick. The referee announced 1 minute of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 1 - 0. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Shooters, with 52 percent of the ball.

Shooters's best player was Ralph Yun. Micah Magee was a disappointment, however. Pewsum's top performer was clearly Cole Gregory. However, José Refugio Corona made a disastrous appearance.
