Clouds darkened the skies at Theatre of Dreams as 26234 spectators turned up for the match. Tangeni Mthebe was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Øystein Andersen and Valentin Slukin. The following players took the field: Túgvuberg - á Trøðni, Johannessen, Petersen, í Fransabrekkuni - undir Skarði, Toftum, í Túni, Jacobsen - Vitalis, Jensen.

Lineup: Pálfy - Knyihár, Dorogi, Dimulász - Kis, Heckmann, Garai, Pelikán - Miskéri, Gilyán, Sas.

Føroyar fielded a 4-4-2 lineup. For Magyarország, the formation of choice was 3-4-3. The guests almost went up by a goal after 17 minutes when Krisztián Sas came through and shot from the right. The ball bounced harmlessly off the post, though. 19 minutes into the match Magyarország's Bence Gilyán head butted an opponent nastily, and so the referee sent him off immediately. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 0. Possession in this half belonged to Magyarország, who controlled the ball 56 percent of the time.

After 46 minutes, the Føroyar coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving Niels Fróði Toftum off the field. Ingi Vilhelm took his place. After 47 minutes, Kristin Vitalis came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 1 - 0, giving Føroyar the lead. Líggjas Túgvuberg's name was chanted throughout the stadium after he made a fantastic save from Benjámin Knyihár's shot from the left 70 minutes into the match. Magyarország's Péter Pelikán was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the opposition's box - Krisztián Sas managed to volley one of them into the net to make it 1 - 1 after 72 minutes. Péter Pelikán tried using a burst of speed to get past his defender after 73 minutes, but it takes more than that to get past fast Aðalstein á Trøðni. Krisztián Sas came close to putting the visiting team one up 75 minutes into the match, following a solo raid down the middle, but Líggjas Túgvuberg managed to tip the ball to a corner. As the 76 minute mark approached, the Magyarország coach decided it was time for a substitution. Péter Pelikán reluctantly made way for Rafael Lattek on the pitch. Benjámin Knyihár was handed the Magyarország captain's armband. 79 minutes into the game, Rafael Lattek was a hair's breadth away from giving Magyarország the lead with a shot from over on the left. A prompt block by Líggjas Túgvuberg saved the home team that time. 86 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Magyarország substitution. Béni Pfaff came on for Tibor Heckmann. The match ends 1 - 1. Magyarország claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 62 percent.

The most dominating Føroyar player was without a doubt Kristin Vitalis. On the other hand, Christian Johannessen's play was disheartening. Magyarország's top performer was clearly Krisztián Sas. Benjámin Knyihár on the other hand, had a terrible day.
