Clear skies welcomed the 2791 spectators who had made their way to Jamaican Lions Arena. Anders Malmgren was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Christian Guiziou and Tomas Larsson. The following players took the field: Simmonds - Batiste, Lipman, Daniels, Petersen, Stirling - Dowling, Mandeville, Dookeran, Robinson, Minott -.

Lineup: Amieiro - Schofield, Henneghan, Richards - Sanders, Stoneking, Hassab El Naby, Truett, Siegel - Sairitupac, Kucherenko.

Jamaican Lions started the game in a 5-5-0 formation, whereas TuS Pewsum lined up in a 3-5-2 formation. 9 minutes into the match, Pewsum's Bradley Truett popped up from nowhere, cheekily stole the ball off an opposition player and scored. 0 - 1. After 31 minutes, speedy Bucky Dowling dashed past his marker, making plenty of room for the second wave of attack. However, Kurt Minott failed to score. Bradley Truett received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 42 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 2. The Pewsum fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 2. Pewsum claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 57 percent.

The visitors added to their lead 50 minutes into the game, after a sensational penalty kick by Pewsum's James Richards slid just past the home keeper. 0 - 3. With 59 minutes played, Justin Petersen of Jamaican fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. 75 minutes into the game, Pewsum worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch. Manuel Amieiro twisted his arm after 76 minutes, forcing Pewsum to make a substitution. This gave Marc Dubois a chance to take to the field instead. After the ball was lifted in from the left, Eduardo Sairitupac was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 79 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 1 minute of added time they, nonetheless, welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. The match ends 0 - 3. Possession in this half belonged to Pewsum, who controlled the ball 62 percent of the time.

The most dominating Jamaican player was without a doubt Clyde Dookeran. Muhammad Simmonds on the other hand, had a terrible day. Pewsum's top performer was clearly Marc Dubois. On the other hand, Forrest Siegel's play was disheartening.
