Boozehill 9 - 0 Shuutari

12000 spectators arrived at BZHL Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. Sergio Lickert was the appointed referee with assistance provided by George Larsson and Eelke Busing. It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 5-4-1 formation while the visitors instead opted for 4-4-2. Boozehill were relying on their world class ability to counter-attack. 6 minutes into the match and the home team took a 1 - 0 lead after breaking through on the left. The scorer for Boozehill was Jani Vuorio. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Ville Loppukaarre got himself booked. The manager of Boozehill was not happy. Boozehill solidified their lead at the 27 minute mark, as Pol Laureins dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 2 - 0. Shuutari's Samsa Heikkola had a good first touch on the flank, but was crowded and, after a change of plan, sent the ball to Juska Varjonen who somehow managed to curl the ball wide. Boozehill increased the lead as Ville Loppukaarre struck to make the score 3 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. Things were deteriorating for the away team as Boozehill scored another to make it 4 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for Into Lindqvist after 37 minutes. Valtteri Partinen could have increased the lead after 39 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. The teams went for the halftime break at 4 - 0. Boozehill claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 75 percent.

The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave Juha Lenkkeri from Boozehill a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 49 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Boozehill to 5 - 0 as Ville Loppukaarre finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. Shuutari's Ville Mettälä got himself booked for a foul. Mikko Saarimäki slowly got up on his feet, clutching his right thigh, but eventually signalled that he was ready to play on. Into Lindqvist should probably have put his team up another goal after 83 minutes after breaking through the middle, but some great goalkeeping by Pertti Santtila kept the visitors in the game. The head of Pol Laureins connected with a corner kick after 84 minutes, and the ball ended up with Juha Lenkkeri of Boozehill who blasted the ball into the net, making the score 6 - 0. After 85 minutes, Juha Lenkkeri was massaging his left knee with a worried look on his face, but managed to get up in the end. Boozehill managed to extend their lead to 7 - 0 when Ville Loppukaarre cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. That made three goals for Ville Loppukaarre and he was marked down for the hat trick. Shuutari's Samsa Heikkola was shown a yellow card after 87 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Having taken a hard knock between his legs, Ville Loppukaarre limped off the pitch in a reduced state of dignity. He could not continue, with 88 minutes on the clock, could this prove costly for his team? Anssi Tutti tried to hide a smile as he entered the field. He had not expected to get a chance this day. As Ville Loppukaarre exited the field, Pol Laureins volunteered to be the new set pieces taker. After 88 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and Jani Vuorio gave the Boozehill supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 8 - 0. Boozehill put themselves up 9 - 0 when Pol Laureins broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 5 minutes beyond the regular 90 minutes. The match ends 9 - 0. Boozehill had most of the ball, with 79 percent of possession.

Boozehill's best player was Pol Laureins. Anssi Tutti was a disappointment, however. The most dominating Shuutari player was without a doubt Ville Mettälä. Kalevi Linna turned in a dismal performance, however.
