Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 194077 at Stade Arsène Wenger today. Daniel Giddy was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Ferhat Erçetin and Manolo Blanke. It is not something you see very often, but on this day some sections of the stadium had been boosted with extra seats so that all fans could be accommodated. The following players took the field: Vrbovszki - F. Nagy, Hódosi, Berzsenyi - Lattek, Szenteczki, Miskéri, Csató, Füvesi - Balog, Ráskó.

The following players had been chosen: Tskitishvili - Pisaruk, Papuashvili, Skhulukhia - Arabidze, Zoidze, Evdoshvili, Kokoiti, Leqvinadze - Zakaraia, Apakidze.

As the teams prepared to start the match, they both lined up in a 3-5-2 formation. Some quick footwork on the left side of the field 17 minutes into the match left Sakartvelo's Tornike Zoidze completely free to score. 0 - 1 for the visitors. 18 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 2 as Simon Pisaruk finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. The visitors' Koba Zakaraia took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 24 minutes into the match. 0 - 3 for Sakartvelo. 0 - 3 was the score after the first half. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Sakartvelo, with 52 percent of the ball.

At 47 minutes into the game, Magyarország's Bence Ráskó deftly knocked the ball home after an impressive run down the left, reducing the visitors' lead to 1 - 3. The crowd groaned when Rafael Lattek, having maneuvered his way down the right, fired the ball just wide and missed a great opportunity to reduce the deficit for Magyarország. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave Csaba Hódosi from Magyarország a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 54 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! After 54 minutes, Simon Pisaruk took a hard knock between his legs. He needed a long breather but was eventually able to continue the game. Simon Pisaruk was ever so close to scoring after an excellent corner was beautifully flicked on by Akaki Skhulukhia, but the ball bounced off the post to safety. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Magyarország's Csaba Hódosi was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 61 minutes. Kálmán Stolcz was given a chance to change things around. With Csaba Hódosi no longer on the pitch, Kálmán Stolcz became the new set pieces taker. After 61 minutes of the match, the manager still hoped to turn things around. Kristóf Miskéri was ordered to assume a different position on the pitch. He took the place of Kálmán Stolcz, who in turn replaced his team mate. The Magyarország coach was desperate to reverse his team's fortunes in the game, and ordered his team to change strategy. Nukri Apakidze wanted to play on, but the Sakartvelo coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 72 minutes into the game by Amiran Nozadze. Nukri Apakidze was coming off, and had placed his last free kick for the day. That meant that Simon Pisaruk got the chance to showcase his dead ball skills. As the captain was no longer on the pitch, Simon Pisaruk took over the role of being the Sakartvelo captain. After 72 minutes, the Sakartvelo players received new instructions from their manager on how to keep in control of the game. After 76 minutes, Magyarország switched Rafael Lattek with Péter Pelikán, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. 81 into the match, Magyarország's Márton Balog fell flat on his chest. After a breather, he was ready to continue. Magyarország's András Füvesi got the home crowd going when he finished off a left wing charge, reducing the away team's lead to 2 - 3. With 89 minutes played, the Magyarország coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. Dávid Antal came on, Áron Vrbovszki had to leave the fray. It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 2 minutes. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! The match ends 2 - 3. Sakartvelo enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 52 percent of possession.

The most dominating Magyarország player was without a doubt Bence Ráskó. However, Péter Pelikán made a disastrous appearance. Koba Zakaraia performed admirably for Sakartvelo. Amiran Nozadze turned in a dismal performance, however.
