WBA 3 - 1 Szekszárd

A scorching day at West Borsod Arena, where 4589 spectators were in place for today's match. Wilfred Scholaert was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Brian Maierbacher and . WBA had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. They fielded: Bárány - Bertalan, Theisz, Mata, Takács - Jakab, Gellér, Kotnyek, Knézy - Sousa, Konrád.

Szekszárd had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. They fielded: Végh - Pataki, Csákó, Erdős, Dézsy - Fazakas, Ungvári, Urbaniczky, Preetz - Börcsök, Stohl.

After 8 minutes of play, Artur Sousa gave the home team a 1 - 0 lead after an attack coming in from the right. 30 minutes in, WBA's László Theisz received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Szekszárd had a chance to level the scores as Timót Erdős suddenly found himself free in the middle of the box with only the keeper to beat, but he misjudged the finish, and only managed to hit the bar. After 35 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by László Theisz might have resulted in another goal for WBA. However, Ervin Végh made a spectacular save. 1 - 0 was the halftime score. WBA claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 67 percent.

A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in WBA's Sándor Jakab increasing the lead to 2 - 0. Virgil Kotnyek increased the lead for WBA to 3 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! What ever got into Sándor Bertalan, the crowd mumbled, as he suddenly struck a cross pass through his own defence - ending up right in front of Szekszárd's Kornél Stohl, who easily put the ball away for 3 - 1 after 78 minutes. WBA claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 73 percent.

The most dominating WBA player was without a doubt Artur Sousa. Sándor Bertalan on the other hand, had a terrible day. Szekszárd's best player was Kornél Stohl. Timót Erdős was a disappointment, however. The match ends 3 - 1.
