Atzelberg 5 - 2 Pott

36096 spectators had found their way to Seckbacher Hexenkessel, despite the heavy rain. Leonard Mathiasson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Lieven Degrève and Lorenzo Brazof. They fielded: Telo - Chiffoleau, Rautakallio, Piela - Balj, Vay, Kapitza, Brecht, Skogstad - Kudra, Huuha.

Starters: Semenciuc - Ortiz, Rogowski, Weijland - Niespodziewany, Kimbern, Wollitz, Lubitsch, Koliński - Vreydal, Djengoue.

Both teams came out with a similar approach to the match, having chosen to start with a 3-5-2 formation. Atzelberg made a bid to take the lead as a ball coming in on the right hand side left Theo Rautakallio completely alone with keeper Geo Semenciuc, who made a spectacular block. The referee showed Pott's Olaf Rogowski the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Geo Semenciuc was unable to continue, following a slight injury to his left knee after 29 minutes. The player that took his place was Jon Rakut. One of many good crosses from Włodzimierz Koliński on the wing was received and skillfully taken care of by Konstantin Vreydal, who scored for Pott. 0 - 1 Kazimierz Niespodziewany could have put his team up another goal 32 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post. With a shot curled in from just outside the middle of the penalty area after 40 minutes played, Julian Kapitza of Atzelberg made the score 1 - 1. After 41 minutes, Pott's Aristide Djengoue made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 1 - 2. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Sandro Brecht got himself booked. The manager of Atzelberg was not happy. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 2. Atzelberg claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.

Atzelberg equalised after 48 minutes after a brilliantly placed penalty by Jean Chiffoleau. They were singing the praises of Axel Vay 55 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 3 - 2 to Atzelberg. The visitors' Kazimierz Niespodziewany came close to levelling the score after 67 minutes with a free kick that went just wide of the top left corner. The muddy pitch made the game a gritty affair, which seemed to suit Włodzimierz Koliński just fine. With 75 minutes played, Atzelberg put themselves up 4 - 2 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to Bernard Kudra, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. Pentti Huuha knocked one home from a counterattack down the right wing, making the score 5 - 2 after 77 minutes. With 80 minutes gone, Atzelberg's Sandro Brecht had to leave the pitch after talking back to the referee and receiving his second booking. Florian Kimbern had a couple of good opportunities to reply after getting through the middle of the opposition defence, but the home team's keeper Björn Telo was simply unbeatable. The referee announced 2 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 5 - 2. Possession of the ball saw an equal split between the teams during the forty-five minutes.

Most important Atzelberg player was Pentti Huuha. Theo Rautakallio was a disappointment, however. Pott's top performer was clearly Włodzimierz Koliński. On the other hand, Jon Rakut's play was disheartening.
