The 38502 spectators at Beatnik Park were in for an afternoon of sunshine. Lorentz Niekisch was the appointed referee with assistance provided by János Ballai and Santiago Ustariz. It was a sunny day and the technical players could roll the ball around with ease. Those that had to chase after the ball found the weather less appealing, it especially stymied the game of Powerful and Quick players. Lineup: Helou - Veselský, Kutcan, Dadalt - Cosba, Leplae, Raeber, Santin, Henley - Lebariotegi, Kowalewski.

The following players had been chosen: Amieiro - Rather, Richards, Henneghan, Caycedo - Corona, Bradshaw, LeMaire, Stallworth - Leduc, Gregory.

It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 3-5-2 formation while the visitors instead opted for 4-4-2. Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Pewsum on this day, taking advantage of their titanic level with that tactic. Buckhead were very close to putting themselves one up after 14 minutes as Paweł Kowalewski got through on the left. However, his concentration failed him, and he shot wide. Buckhead's John Henley set up a perfect opportunity for Dennis Cosba, but the latter failed to score. Making his way up the middle 36 minutes into the match, Paweł Kowalewski almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert Manuel Amieiro blocked it to keep the score level. Good work by the Pewsum defensive line after 39 minutes produced a good counterattack chance, which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found James Richards alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide. 0 - 0 was the halftime score. Buckhead claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 70 percent.

76 minutes in, Pewsum's Léon Leduc received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. 78 minutes in, the referee awarded Buckhead a penalty. Guido Leplae coolly slotted it home for a 1 - 0 lead. Things were deteriorating for the away team as Buckhead scored another to make it 2 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for Sergio Santin after 84 minutes. It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 1 minute. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! The match ends 2 - 0. Buckhead enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 69 percent of possession.

Sergio Santin performed admirably for Buckhead. Paweł Kowalewski was a disappointment, however. Pewsum's best player was Cole Gregory. José Refugio Corona on the other hand, had a terrible day.
