Clouds darkened the skies at Waldstadion as 50000 spectators turned up for the match. Juan Luis Ferrando was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Zoran Rajčević and Kioumars Shakoori. The following players had been chosen: Tiscornia - Eidenschink, Anda, Frommelt - Reinert, Zabielski, Căzănaru, Siepietowski, á Dul - Fedlawi, Ezteíbar.

Lineup: Kima - Haggren, Bajo Fernández - Nogues, 辉光 (Huiguang), Ghidini, Quiroga, Aloma - Morteanu, Öykü, Pirraglia.

Färöer Eagles fielded a 3-5-2 lineup. For Rep. of Sadistan, the formation of choice was 2-5-3. With 7 minutes played Ernesto Ezteíbar almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide. Färöer made a bid to take the lead as a ball coming in on the right hand side left Victor-Ştefan Căzănaru completely alone with keeper Tal Kima, who made a spectacular block. Always quick on his feet, Sadistan's Ionuţ-Gabriel Morteanu sped down the field after 18 minutes, but his pass to Uba Aloma was just a bit too far ahead for him to get a good shot off. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to Ernesto Ezteíbar, but the Färöer player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0! 28 minutes into the game Sadistan's 甘 (Gan) 辉光 (Huiguang) found a gap in the home side's central defence and scored with a fabulous shot, making it 1 - 1. It was 1 - 1 at the break. Färöer claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 58 percent.

Färöer created a good opportunity to score 58 minutes into the match when Henryk Siepietowski's hooked ball from the left created a scuffle in front of the goal, and the visitors' defenders had a hard time clearing the ball. Färöer took the lead 59 minutes into the game by 2 - 1, as Bichr Fedlawi elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. With 60 minutes played, the Sadistan coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. Nicolas Michel came on, Valfredo Quiroga had to leave the fray. Färöer solidified their lead at the 68 minute mark, as Andreas Anda dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 3 - 1. After 70 minutes, Sadistan switched Ionuţ-Gabriel Morteanu with Lionel Jouannet, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 72 minutes, Färöer did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker, Petur Hans Reinert was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 4 - 1. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Färöer coach let Jaromír Bešťák replace Victor-Ştefan Căzănaru after 75 minutes. Soenke Eidenschink was handed the Färöer captain's armband. The Färöer players could smell victory in the air. Soenke Eidenschink wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for Luka Fabian Wolkenhaar after 75 minutes. As Soenke Eidenschink exited the field, Mariusz Zabielski volunteered to be the new set pieces taker. Mariusz Zabielski became the new Färöer captain. Uba Aloma could've grabbed a goal for Sadistan 78 minutes in when he got a pass from the left putting him free of the home side's defence, but he was unable to take advantage of the situation. 82 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as Petur Hans Reinert broke through, making the score 5 - 1 for Färöer. It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 1 minute. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! The match ends 5 - 1. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Färöer, with 60 percent of the ball.

Färöer's best player was Bichr Fedlawi. Carlos María Tiscornia was a disappointment, however. Giuliano Pirraglia performed admirably for Sadistan. Pedro Bajo Fernández turned in a dismal performance, however.
