Hatillo 0 - 4 Pewsum

The 2516 spectators at El Hatillo Stadium were in for an afternoon of sunshine. Davide Lo Giudice was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Francisco Bessa and Diego Bercini. It was a sunny day and the technical players could roll the ball around with ease. Those that had to chase after the ball found the weather less appealing, it especially stymied the game of Powerful and Quick players. They fielded: La Baka - Shauqee, Acem, Machado, Cervantes, Zapiec - Rocha, Haro, Capriles - Mullins, Ferreira.

The following players had been chosen: Amieiro - Schofield, Henneghan, Richards - Sanders, Stoneking, Hassab El Naby, Truett, Siegel - Sairitupac, Kucherenko.

El Hatillo Fury F.C entered the field in a 5-3-2 formation. The visitors, TuS Pewsum, chose to start the game with a 3-5-2 lineup. 0 - 1 was the score with 20 minutes played, after Gaylord Schofield cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal for Pewsum. 31 minutes into the game a free kick by James Richards found its way through the home side's poorly assembled defensive formation, making Pewsum's lead 0 - 2. Halftime score was 0 - 2. Pewsum enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 63 percent of possession.

Corey Stoneking of Pewsum received a yellow card after 58 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Had it not been for one of the home defenders, Corey Stoneking would have put Pewsum up another goal 76 minutes into the match with his audacious lob from the right wing. With clinical precision, the cross from winger Forrest Siegel found its way to Nick Sanders's head, and a screaming header gave Pewsum the goal after 80 minutes played. 0 - 3 Roberto Capriles made a nice dash down the wing after 81 minutes, but was unable to get the cross into the box. A goal kick was awarded. A defender managed to keep the ball from crossing the goal-line after a curling shot coming in from the right from Eduardo Sairitupac after 84 minutes, and prevented Pewsum from going up another goal. After 87 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Naguib Hassab El Naby who increased Pewsum's lead to 0 - 4. After 89 minutes of game time, Corey Stoneking had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but Félix La Baka was in the right place and tipped the ball over for a corner. It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 1 minute. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! The match ends 0 - 4. Pewsum claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 71 percent.

Most important Hatillo player was Erasmo 'La Bestia' Cervantes. Roberto Capriles on the other hand, had a terrible day. Pewsum's top performer was clearly Eduardo Sairitupac. However, Gaylord Schofield made a disastrous appearance.
