The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 1545 had shown up at SoccerStars Arena for the match. Mario Silió was the appointed referee with assistance provided by and Sietse Haelvoet. SoccerStars tactics involved an interesting 2-5-3 combination. The following players took the field: de Rougemont - Dumont, Faeh - Ramer, Dournel, Boehm, Rohrer, Torchia - Dores, Szproch, Thuillard.

Marbach had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. They fielded: Deyer - Friedenseich, Bittinger, Schricker - Galmiche, Maillard, Wildisen, Wachmann, Kubalek - Vinaccia, Willisegger.

SoccerStars were mostly trying to use their divine skill at attacking on the flanks. Today, Marbach's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks, taking advantage of their magnificent level with that tactic. After some beautiful movement down the left wing, Sébastien Dournel scored for SoccerStars putting them ahead 1 - 0, after 4 minutes. Things were deteriorating for the away team as SoccerStars scored another to make it 2 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for Cristiano Thuillard after 8 minutes. SoccerStars's Franz Joseph Boehm got himself booked for a foul. With 23 minutes played, SoccerStars put themselves up 3 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to Ugo Maria Torchia, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. Marbach's Giovanbattista Vinaccia was shown a yellow card after 27 minutes for slicing down an opponent. A well placed corner kick from Sébastien Dournel was followed by Urs Rohrer's hard but accurate header. The well executed routine resulted in a goal for SoccerStars, the score now 4 - 0. At this point, it was obvious that the players of SoccerStars lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. Almost all the way down to the corner flag, Marbach's Vinzenz Kubalek somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for Giovanbattista Vinaccia, who struck for 4 - 1. It was 4 - 1 at the break. SoccerStars claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 64 percent.

SoccerStars had a good opportunity to attack in the middle, but remembered their instructions to focus on wing attacks instead. Marco António Dores increased the lead for SoccerStars to 5 - 1, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! Marek Szproch unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide. Emmanuel Dumont wanted to play on, but the SoccerStars coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 65 minutes into the game by Aldo Mavica. A great save by keeper Sepp Deyer after 65 minutes kept the visitors in the game after Cristiano Thuillard struck from the left with a real cannonball. There was concern in the stands when, at the 66 minute mark, SoccerStars's Marco António Dores hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch. SoccerStars put themselves up 6 - 1 when Franz Joseph Boehm broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by SoccerStars, with 64 percent of the ball.

SoccerStars's best player was Xavier Ramer. However, Aldo Mavica made a disastrous appearance. Sepp Deyer performed admirably for Marbach. Giovanbattista Vinaccia on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 6 - 1.
