RSG 0 - 3 Senncity

2632 spectators had come to Noppentaler Shosholo Arena this cloudy day. Lorenzo Ottone was the appointed referee with assistance provided by and Jens Fogelblom. The match took place on neutral ground. RSG had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation. They fielded: Borne - Ermolenko, Lehmann, Matzner, Benesch - Spitzke, Bockholdt, Zill, Hauer, Zangerl - Löben.

Senncity started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Lineup: Drlík - Williams, Métrailler, Ridao - Rambert, Hangartner, Hombau, Cotroneo, Kallemback - Kersten, Roncari.

The strategy for RSG was to use their weak ability to press. Senncity's Tinoco Kallemback got himself booked for a foul. Reiner Benesch of RSG had to be helped off the pitch as an injury meant he was unable to finish the game. Markus Korth came in to finish the match. Tinoco Kallemback made a nice dash down the wing after 12 minutes, but was unable to get the cross into the box. A goal kick was awarded. With 13 minutes played, seemingly due to lack of experience, Joaquín Ridao needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed. 14 minutes into the game, Nico Kersten had a great chance to put his team ahead, but his kick from the left went wide. This was a good period for the visitors, with several opportunities to take the lead, particularly when Donatello Roncari slipped through the defence on the right to come up alone against Usmar Borne, but the home side's keeper showed his lightning reflexes. After 21 minutes Senncity's Michael Williams contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game. The visiting Nico Kersten was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 24 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 0 - 1 was the score. Senncity's Dave Métrailler refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 25 minutes. Adam Hangartner received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 32 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 2. The Senncity fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. Confident in their lead, Senncity's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. The visitors' Donatello Roncari took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 33 minutes into the match. 0 - 3 for Senncity. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 3. Possession in this half belonged to Senncity, who controlled the ball 68 percent of the time.

Tomas Dergias was called on to replace Senncity's Adam Hangartner after 50 minutes following a nasty collision. Usmar Borne got a fingertip on Romén Hombau's shot from the left 61 minutes in, and managed to keep the visitors from going up another goal. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Senncity, with 71 percent of the ball.

The most dominating RSG player was without a doubt Markus Korth. On the other hand, Heinrich Zill's play was disheartening. Senncity's top performer was clearly Donatello Roncari. Tinoco Kallemback was a disappointment, however. The match ends 0 - 3.
