Open 8 - 0 Rovers

Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and Segmon BK Arena saw a crowd turnout of 3021. was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Emengardo Lins Viana and . The match took place on neutral ground. Open started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Cornelus - Lecca, Dikmen, Fouchard - Hundertwasser, Lott, Jurac, Ritsch, Petermeier - Rutzen, Gül.

A 5-4-1 alignment was the formation of choice for Rovers. The following players took the field: Colclough - Brockfield, Papic, Fairfield, Stockwell, Hillcoat - Longway, Viscón, Silber, Ortega - Iacuzzo.

The wings were the focus of most of Open's attacks on this day, taking advantage of their mythical level with that tactic. Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Rovers on this day, taking advantage of their excellent level with that tactic. 6 minutes in, Rovers's Kael Fairfield received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. 10 minutes in, the referee awarded Open a penalty. Jordan Fouchard coolly slotted it home for a 1 - 0 lead. With 22 minutes played, Open's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to Louis Rutzen he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 2 - 0. Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 35 minutes, Open did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker, Ingo Petermeier was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 3 - 0. After this, you could see that the players of Open were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. With 36 minutes played, Open put themselves up 4 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to Jordan Fouchard, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. Halftime score was 4 - 0. Open claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 69 percent.

After 46 minutes, Rovers switched Kael Fairfield with Jan Sweeny, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. Open increased the lead as Massimiliano Lecca struck to make the score 5 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. Things were deteriorating for the away team as Open scored another to make it 6 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for Mile Jurac after 63 minutes. The coach of Open was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 65 minutes, Micha Nenning came on for Ingo Petermeier. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave Jan Sweeny from Rovers a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 66 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Open's Micha Nenning saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 69 minutes. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Open coach let Ken Goeldi replace Silas Ritsch after 70 minutes. Oğuz Gül wanted to play on, but the Open coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 75 minutes into the game by Alexandre Merrien. After 76 minutes Open's Alexandre Merrien contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game. Micha Nenning increased the lead for Open to 7 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! After 78 minutes Open's Massimiliano Lecca limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. Attacking on the wings was the choice for Open, and they were successfully passing the ball from the middle to the wings to attack. The home side's Micha Nenning came close to extending the lead 80 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but Donald Colclough managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. After 82 minutes, Jordan Fouchard put Open ahead 8 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. At that, Jordan Fouchard was noted down for a hat trick! Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Open, with 71 percent of the ball.

Most important Open player was Luc Hundertwasser. Jordan Fouchard on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Rovers player was without a doubt Pier Cesare Iacuzzo. On the other hand, Donald Colclough's play was disheartening. The match ends 8 - 0.
