The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 1474 had shown up at Stadion am Zoo for the match. Agdal Terzić was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Nello Musca and . The match took place on neutral ground. Haschheim started off with a 2-5-3 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Wiedemeyer - Rethmann, Striewski - Lutteroth, Odenthal, Ésper, Huettinger, Iwanowski - Hamburg, Schnellnberger, Stuttgart.

Königshofen tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. They fielded: Klekamp - Baeckmann, Aichter, Planegg - Oitzl, Abt, Dressler, Baldan, Sonsfeld - Jusinger, Praml.

The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 8 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from Armin Huettinger, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing. With 20 minutes played, Domenic Striewski could have brought this one home for Haschheim as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. The referee showed Haschheim's Yannick Lutteroth the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. The player down was Reinhold Baeckmann. The Königshofen bench looked worried for a while, but in the end he managed to get up. After 23 minutes, the visitors levelled the scores after Hannes Baldan made it through the middle and struck home to make it 1 - 1. The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of Königshofen's Egon Praml after 24 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 1 - 2 lead. Haschheim's Armin Huettinger was shown a yellow card after 26 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Haschheim's Torben Hamburg got himself booked for a foul. There was concern in the stands when, at the 29 minute mark, Königshofen's Hannes Baldan hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch. It was 1 - 2 at the break. Königshofen claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.

With 46 minutes played, the Haschheim coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. Helge Wannehr came on, Yannick Lutteroth had to leave the fray. After 50 minutes of the match, the manager still hoped to turn things around. Kamil Iwanowski was ordered to assume a different position on the pitch. He took the place of Tewes Schnellnberger, who in turn replaced his team mate. Königshofen increased their lead after 54 minutes when Tobias Sonsfeld broke through on the right, upping the score to 1 - 3, much to the home crowd's dismay. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Haschheim's Maximilian Rethmann was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 56 minutes. Lutz Seipelt was given a chance to change things around. Armin Huettinger tried to get a goal back for Haschheim but despite all his hard work down the right, he just couldn't complete the move. With a penalty awarded after 76 minutes, Haschheim's Domenic Striewski placed the ball low and to the keeper's right, impossible to block. 2 - 3. With a shot curled in from just outside the middle of the penalty area after 79 minutes played, Kamil Iwanowski of Haschheim made the score 3 - 3. Königshofen enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 51 percent of possession.

Still tied after 90 minutes, the match continued into extra time. Danilo César Ésper would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Gabriël Bosklopper entered the game for Haschheim as the match clock showed 91 minutes. Wolff Odenthal got new instructions from the Haschheim coach after 91 minutes. He changed positions with Torben Hamburg soon after. After 91 minutes, the Königshofen coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving Mathieu Klekamp off the field. Moritz Genrich took his place. As the 91 minute mark approached, the Königshofen coach decided it was time for a substitution. Leon Yannick Dressler reluctantly made way for Olav Fleutjepiepen on the pitch. Some quick footwork on the left side of the field 95 minutes into the match left Königshofen's Egon Praml completely free to score. 3 - 4 for the visitors. When Domenic Striewski was badly injured by a couple of strong tackles after 105 minutes, Haschheim fans were unhappy to discover that it was not possible to make a substitution. With Domenic Striewski no longer on the pitch, Helge Wannehr became the new set pieces taker. As the captain was no longer on the pitch, Gabriël Bosklopper took over the role of being the Haschheim captain. The most dominating Haschheim player was without a doubt Kamil Iwanowski. On the other hand, Marius Wiedemeyer's play was disheartening. Egon Praml performed admirably for Königshofen. Dirk Oitzl turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 3 - 4.
