A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 1580 to Mammut - Arena. David Vincent was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Eemi Sainmaa and Rainer Heidenreich. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Mammut. Starters: Widhalm - Nitz, Perreau, Albano - Wück, Schindelar, El Beik, Eben, Thorhauge - Aranguren, Laber.

Schwäbisch started off with a 2-5-3 lineup. Lineup: Kutyło - Biehl, Puebla - Freiler, Bernhart, Kancsó, Kirlum, Veckenstedt - Čechlovský, Eilders, Fibicher.

The guests took the lead 5 minutes into the match, after a right-side attack resulted in Justin Veckenstedt scoring to make it 0 - 1. Schwäbisch increased their lead after 6 minutes when Félix Puebla broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 2, much to the home crowd's dismay. Mammut's fans were urging them forward as they tried to get back into the game, and their vocal support was rewarded 13 minutes into the match as Nathan 'Quark' Laber ran onto a beautiful ball played through the visitors' defence and slotted it past the keeper to reduce the deficit. 1 - 2. After 16 minutes, Raul Albano sent the corner kick right to Tarif 'Nati-Sepp' El Beik who headed it sharply past the keeper. 2 - 2! Mammut broke through on the left 29 minutes into the game, with Georg 'Quälix' Schindelar firing in from an acute angle to give the home side a 3 - 2 lead. 3 - 2 was the score after the first half. Mammut claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 54 percent.

Several players seemed a little dazed by the warm weather, and were repeatedly tricked by the clever and agile Joakim Fibicher. The bench was restless, and with 59 minutes passed Schwäbisch's coach gave Marjan Bačković the opportunity the player had been hoping for. Arne Kirlum reluctantly left the field. Joakim Fibicher was handed the Schwäbisch captain's armband. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Schwäbisch's Timo Eilders was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 64 minutes. Jochem van der Maar was given a chance to change things around. Schwäbisch's Jochem van der Maar got himself booked for a foul. Unfortunately for Mammut, Ansfried 'Adlerauge' Widhalm was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field. Giancarlo De Muner replaced him. As the captain was no longer on the pitch, Yannick Perreau took over the role of being the Mammut captain. With 83 minutes played, Mammut put themselves up 4 - 2 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to Georg 'Quälix' Schindelar, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. The visitors replied 84 minutes into the game, reducing the home side's lead to 4 - 3, as Yasar Bernhart dashed up the middle, easily lobbing the ball over the home team's keeper. Tarif 'Nati-Sepp' El Beik could have put Mammut up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 85 minutes. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Mammut, with 53 percent of the ball.

Most important Mammut player was Nathan 'Quark' Laber. However, Giancarlo De Muner made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating Schwäbisch player was without a doubt Joakim Fibicher. Robert Kutyło was a disappointment, however. The match ends 4 - 3.
