FCBDI started off with a 2-5-3 lineup. Lineup: Barthez - Ouzande, Vitré - Summerscale, Clement, Placek, Turto, Kautio - Rekstad, Rocha, Montes.

Galway tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. Starters: Ignacewski - Keck, Glüheisen, Tassili - Fallon, Mac Brádaigh, Collings, ó Braonáin, Naschberger - Hayer, Torales.

FCBDI mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle, taking advantage of their extra-terrestrial level with that tactic. Éric Rocha gave FCBDI the lead with a beautiful free kick after 6 minutes. 1 - 0! Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Galway's Sascha Keck was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 13 minutes. Bartłomiej 'Metalhead' Jacak was given a chance to change things around. Galway made it 1 - 1 as Robert Naschberger got a touch to the floated corner kick and flicked the ball to Mark 'Dull Boy' Fallon who whipped a low drive in off the far post. FCBDI had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. They were singing the praises of Sebastián Augusto Montes 34 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 2 - 1 to FCBDI. 38 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as Vincent Vitré broke through, making the score 3 - 1 for FCBDI. 39 minutes into the match, Éric Rocha could have extended the lead, but his powerful free kick went just over the bar. The game was characterised by rough play and many physical challenges on the wet field, but Marek Placek showed great heart and had a good game. Sadurniño Ouzande of FCBDI was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. 3 - 1 was the score after the first half. FCBDI enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 73 percent of possession.

Henri Kautio should probably have put his team up another goal after 51 minutes after breaking through the middle, but some great goalkeeping by Włodzimierz Ignacewski kept the visitors in the game. Content with how the game was proceeding, the FCBDI coach let Oreste Avagliano replace Knut Rekstad after 64 minutes. Galway's Robert Naschberger got himself booked for a foul. Cheers filled the stadium as Almar Clement broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 4 - 1 to FCBDI. The players of FCBDI now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. The coach of FCBDI was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 80 minutes, Frédéric Moris came on for Éric Rocha. As Éric Rocha exited the field, Sadurniño Ouzande volunteered to be the new set pieces taker. Frédéric Moris was the new captain of FCBDI - handed the armband by the departing player. After 84 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by Almar Clement might have resulted in another goal for FCBDI. However, Włodzimierz Ignacewski made a spectacular save. FCBDI had most of the ball, with 73 percent of possession.

The most dominating FCBDI player was without a doubt Marek Placek. However, Vincent Vitré made a disastrous appearance. Bartłomiej 'Metalhead' Jacak performed admirably for Galway. Aníbal Torales on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 4 - 1.
