Drags 0 - 3 K04

2896 spectators had come to WoodsBank this cloudy day. Tino Coenen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Thomas Bjerke and Velibor Injatović. The match took place on neutral ground. Drags started off with a 4-5-1 lineup. They fielded: Valenciaga Ros - Rosenberg-Lipinsky, Chlebowski, Root, Faaß - Corrocher, Hedley, Phelippeau, Schmelz, Tchórznicki - Eggström.

K04 had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation. The following players took the field: Krúdy - Ragona, Hustoft, Alpagu - Bauer, Harney, Gualerzi, Fenger - Hermida, Arjmandpour, Chartier.

After a savage shot that could only be parried by the keeper, Kamal Arjmandpour demonstrated his experience by being in just the right place to slot home the rebound. His goal for K04 29 minutes into the match made the score 0 - 1. With 30 minutes played, Christophe Chartier nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. Moritz Rosenberg-Lipinsky got left behind when K04's Johnny Fenger left scorch marks in the turf 32 minutes, finishing off with a blisteringly swift strike. 0-2! After this, you could see that the players of K04 were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. 35 minutes into the match, Perfeito Hermida came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. Drags had a great opportunity to score following a counterattack after 36 minutes, but Tim Hedley's shot from the left sailed high over the bar. 37 minutes into the game, Olof Eggström had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came Johan Borscheid. Luther Root was handed the Drags captain's armband. Łukasz Tchórznicki made a nice dash down the wing after 40 minutes, but was unable to get the cross into the box. A goal kick was awarded. It was 0 - 2 at the break. K04 claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 55 percent.

K04 were able to draw a foul with their counterattacks, but the shot from Johnny Fenger went into the arms of the keeper. Jens-Ulf Faaß of Drags received a yellow card after 57 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Leon Harney came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over Alvar 'Wolle' Valenciaga Ros but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. Some fine movement on the left led to a K04 goal after 66 minutes, making it 0 - 3. Christophe Chartier was noted down as the scorer. With 77 minutes played, the Drags coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. Ferdi Zah came on, Armin Corrocher had to leave the fray. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave Urbano Gualerzi from K04 a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 83 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! K04 had to make a substitution after 85 minutes. Christophe Chartier limped off the field and was replaced by Sebastian Starzinger. After 89 minutes, Drags switched Max Schmelz with Wilke Gogenberg, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. K04 had most of the ball, with 51 percent of possession.

Drags's best player was Ferdi Zah. Alvar 'Wolle' Valenciaga Ros on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating K04 player was without a doubt Kamal Arjmandpour. Sebastian Starzinger turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 3.
