Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 3890 to Egyptians Arena. was the appointed referee with assistance provided by and Jaromír Šebesta. The match took place on neutral ground. X-TREM-TEAM tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. They fielded: Nagl - Pedrajas, Genitsaris, Pătraşcu - Montout, Nazım, Raggam, Colombo, Barbosa Monteiro - Froudarakis, Herdling.

BDU decided to use a 4-5-1 set up. The following players had been chosen: Demirel - Lichtsteiner, Reginiussen, Mihalko, Stanev - Barnetta, Ardizzone, Wehrheim, Stapelfeldt, Yakin - Drmic.

The strategy for BDU was to use their solid ability to press. 6 minutes into the match, BDU's Murat Yakin demonstrated his famed speed as he raced past his marker and passed the ball to Josip Drmic who chipped it in for 0 - 1. A drive down the left side allowed Gottlieb Wehrheim to get in close and score another goal for BDU after 11 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 2. After this, you could see that the players of BDU were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. At this time in the match, BDU were using their skill at pressing to successfully stifle the game. 32 minutes into the game X-TREM-TEAM broke through on the left wing and Nathan Herdling managed to reduce the lead to 1 - 2. 1 - 2 was the score after the first half. BDU claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 55 percent.

The bench was restless, and with 46 minutes passed X-TREM-TEAM's coach gave Andrés D'Alessandro the opportunity the player had been hoping for. Esteban Pedrajas reluctantly left the field. After 60 minutes, X-TREM-TEAM switched Emmanouil Genitsaris with Stephen Mayer, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. BDU's Ross Ardizzone made it through the home team's defence on the right hand side 72 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded goal when a defender slid in and cleared the ball off the line. 74 minutes into the game, BDU worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch. After 77 minutes of game time, Ross Ardizzone had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but Moritz 'The Wall' Nagl was in the right place and tipped the ball over for a corner. Had it not been for one of the home defenders, Tranquillo Barnetta would have put BDU up another goal 78 minutes into the match with his audacious lob from the right wing. The crowd was on its feet 83 minutes into the match, as X-TREM-TEAM's Stephen Mayer found himself unmarked in front of the goal after a dash up the left side. He calmly put away the 2 - 2 equaliser. BDU enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 53 percent of possession.

As neither team had managed to win, extra time was called. After 97 minutes, Nathan Herdling sent the corner kick right to Stephen Mayer who headed it sharply past the keeper. 3 - 2! A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in X-TREM-TEAM's Nathan Herdling increasing the lead to 4 - 2. 106 minutes into the match Nathan Herdling put X-TREM-TEAM ahead 5 - 2 with a truly marvelous free kick. That was his third goal of the match - a hat trick for Nathan Herdling. Coming in on the left, Murat Yakin did everything right to get a goal for BDU after 107 minutes, but his finishing shot was stabbed clear by the keeper. Viktor Raggam performed admirably for X-TREM-TEAM. Kostis Froudarakis on the other hand, had a terrible day. BDU's best player was Josip Drmic. Tranquillo Barnetta turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 5 - 2.
