Hearts 5 - 1 PZB II

4026 spectators arrived at X-TREM-TEAM Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Recep Öktüzün and . The match took place on neutral ground. Hearts had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Starters: Thümmler - Krumrück, Niessner, Kubitschke - Kirchhorsten, Strube, Michels, Ratka, Kuiper - Tater, Trampert.

A 2-5-3 alignment was the formation of choice for PZB II. The following players had been chosen: Lipman - Parmentola, Manasco - Zogjani, West, Campaniello, Seymour, Liverani - Morlion, Tzemach, Yorke.

Hearts fans held their breath as Domenik Trampert scampered down the left side. He successfully avoided all challenges and cracked home the shot for 1 - 0! The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave Achim Kuiper from Hearts a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 15 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! A loud groan was heard from the fans of PZB II, as Raheem Yorke left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match. Jérémy Henaff took his place on the field. With clinical precision, the cross from winger Francesco Liverani found its way to Jérémy Henaff's head, and a screaming header gave PZB II the goal after 17 minutes played. 1 - 1 Hearts took the lead 18 minutes into the game by 2 - 1, as Alfons Krumrück elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. 2 - 1 was the score after the first half. Hearts claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 62 percent.

Still trailing on the score board, PZB II adjusted their tactics after 46 minutes. Yann Morlion had a quick chat at the side line, then switched positions with Giuseppe Campaniello. Herbert Tater could have increased the lead after 49 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. Dirk Michels could have put Hearts up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 51 minutes. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Hearts coach let Jörn Riehmer replace Dirk Michels after 65 minutes. Cheers filled the stadium as Achim Kuiper broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 3 - 1 to Hearts. Hearts's Uwe Kubitschke left the field after 73 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was Mathias Drahosch. PZB II's Nicola Parmentola was shown a yellow card after 76 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Almost all the way down to the corner flag, Hearts's Kai Kirchhorsten somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for Domenik Trampert, who struck for 4 - 1. After 83 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and Achim Kuiper gave the Hearts supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 5 - 1. After 84 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by Sascha Ratka might have resulted in another goal for Hearts. However, Jerome 'die Lippe' Lipman made a spectacular save. PZB II had to make a substitution after 86 minutes. Jerome 'die Lippe' Lipman limped off the field and was replaced by Joel Andrews. Hearts enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 67 percent of possession.

Domenik Trampert performed admirably for Hearts. Achim Kuiper was a disappointment, however. PZB II's top performer was clearly Francesco Liverani. Joel Andrews turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 5 - 1.
